Have you heard that Gaspar Noe is in talks to do a remake of "Miracle on 34th Street"? Should be a fun family romp.

Maybe Lars von Trier can do a live action version of "The Little Mermaid".

I don't know if Babe: Pig in the City counts as a children's film. It's so dark and so full of themes that need unpacking.

...or perhaps you meant Happy Feet

I haven't seen one in a long time. Now that they are doing more sales, and the pre-order price reductions maybe they're done with the signed promos.

The Indicator/Powerhouse Blu-ray of See No Evil will probably end up being on my Top Five Blu-ray releases of 2017 list. It's incredible in every way, and it was one of the best surprises in recent memory.

I just watched this film myself the other night. Damn solid thriller; I really enjoyed it.

He also co-wrote and in a couple of interviews claimed he also 'more or less' directed the first Babe uncredited and that he handed Chris Noonan everything on a plate. Which is clearly why it's such a perfect tonal match for Pig in the City and its Fellini does Stephen King with seriously mentally disturbed animals vibe.

The charge sheet in the trial scene will be a lot longer, that's for sure. I can just picture Albert Dupontel, Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassell in the Edmund Gwenn, Maureen O'Hara and John Payne roles.

As for Lars, if you've read the original story it's right up his alley. Though in his version she just might kill the prince and bathe in his blood to get her old life back after all. Though it's probably a safer bet for him than remaking The Swan Princess...

Richard Fleischer is one of the most intriguing and eclectic directors ever.

In addition to the above films, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Narrow Margin, Violent Saturday, The Vikings, Tora! Tora! Tora!, Soylent Green...not many guys out there who can match that CV.

Why is it no one has yet to mention FANTASTIC VOYAGE?

But what's really important about DOCTOR DOLITTLE is not who directed it, but who produced it.

Still no relation to Doctor Dolittle, but I just want to add other Richard Fleischer gems like Armored Car Robbery, Compulsion, The Last Run, The New Centurions and The Spikes Gang. The only film of his that didn't impress me much so far was Mr. Majestyk, which wasn't bad at all but a rather average Charles Bronson action flick (which means it almost certainly has its own fans). What a prolific master he was.

Not really a big deal, the DVD-R on Amazon has comparable video quality and far superior audio quality. The TT's audio is a botched 25fps conversion resulting in annoying echoing throughout the whole film. The Amazon DVD doesn't have this issue.

TLDR; if you want When The Wind Blows buy the DVD-R version off Amazon:

I think maybe he directed some movies he shouldn't have, Doctor Dolittle among them. I believe he didn't even mention Dolittle in his autobiography. I think his best movie is one of his first, The Narrow Margin.

Fleischer's finest hour was "Mandingo", no doubt about it.

I don't think any BFI releases have been region free since their early flipside releases like "The Party's Over" and "Little Malcolm".
