Glad to hear your recovering Owl. I was in the same boat when I was 17, with a ruptured appendix and being in the hospital 2 weeks. It wasn't fun and I very nearly died. I'm sure your anxious to get those running shoes on again but have a good recovery first!

Two for the Road is easily worth the full price of $29.95. I got both it and How to Steal a Million at $29.95 but then I'm a huge Hepburn fan so I can't speak for everyone but most people should like them even as blind buys.

From what I understand, Nightmare Alley has not been remastered. Whatever this is that Signal One is releasing it is from an old transfer.

edit: They're also citing a release date of October 29, so maybe that work hasn't even been done yet. Last edited by belcherman; 03-14-2018 at 09:04 PM. |

Thinking of picking up:
VALACHI PAPERS STONE KILLER EDGE OF ETERNITY How is the PIRATES OF BLOOD RIVER? Also debating debating the Jackie Chan double for SNAKE. I already have DRUNKEN MASTER from MOC, but I can justify the 15 dollars as if it’s for a new title. |

I’m eyeing both Bronson flicks and the Jackie Chan double feature. Anyone have any thoughts on those three films PQ and AQ?

I wish you all the best in whatever recovery process you need to go through The Great Owl, and come out the other side in perfect health and renewed vigour. I thought this may cheer you up in reference to your "Alcoholics Anonymous' reference, as they say "the best form of medicine is laughter". I apologise in advance for any people or animals that maybe offended by my poor irrelevant attempts at humour in regards to such an important organisation. the only thing I am able to state in my poor defence is: "I grew up watching Monty Python". Alan's "Blu Ray Anonymouse" Here are the 12 Steps as defined by Alcoholics Anonymous: 1) We admitted we were powerless over our Blu Ray choices and our lives have become unmanageable as a result. Hey dear can we build another room for my movie collection? 2) I came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity, and our Blu Rays to a perfect PQ please. 3) Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God and to the Movie Directors, as we humble understood them. Or as they refer to themselves as "God", looking at you Orson. 4) Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves and our Movie Collection. Have I added my latest purchase to the Blu Ray.com database? Praise Be! 5) Admitted to God, and to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. That is purchasing Blu Rays with no actual redeeming qualities, except with great PQ's. I am looking at you "Murder on the Orient Express". 6) Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character and Blu Ray "Defects, scratches etc.". 7) Humbly asked Him to remove all our shortcoming and the need to have the "Perfect Release". And please add a Slipcover to the release. 8) Made a list of persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all, including all the Blu Ray.Com Forum people we may have offended with our more personal and robust opinions regarding our poor tastes in movies. 9) Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. Returning said crappy movies for a full refund, and we are really sorry we read those positive reviews! 10) Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it. Though hey, when I am wrong, I am a perfect movie critic! 11) Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out. And that our favourite movies will be released by Criterion! 12) Having had a spritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to Blu Ray alcoholics and to practice these principles in all our affairs. Hallelujah I am a reborn Blu Ray Believer! |
