![]() The Umbrella disc from Australia is Region Free and in the correct color timing. Good quality too. I believe you can buy it from Deep Discount in the US. |

There should be an exception made when the release is no longer available from that label. I mean it only makes practical sense for people looking for an out of print title in the correct thread to be directed to an available source. We are mostly adults here after all.

I thought the issue was discussing competing releases e.g. the same movie released and being sold by Code Red and 88 Films at the same time. Twilight Time isn't losing any Night of the Living Dead sales at this point since they don't have any left to sell.

I don’t get involved too much in the politics here and I’ve been on this site almost as long as anyone. If the forum rules prohibit someone posting about a re-release for something that is out of print, then those rules need changed. The person doesn’t need to be told what they did is wrong. We all come here because of a shared interest.

All the examples you and others cited of this being frowned upon had to do with people going into label threads and promoting alternative releases for titles still actively being sold by the label in question which wasn't the case here. |

If a label's releases can't withstand someone pointing out that there's a superior edition available elsewhere, that's on the label in question, not a poster here

It seems that if mentioning the alternate release for the OOP Night of the Living Dead is not allowed, then neither should the recent messages announcing Sony self-releasing Sleepless in Seattle or the new 4K Sony release of Christine, or the earlier Sony release of Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?, because in each case it's advertisement for a competing distributor. But no one raised any objections because those are big, relevant news items for TT: that the studio realized, after TT's release, that the title had a significant market and wanted it back for their own profits.
I similarly think that news of a long OOP title being back in print is also relevant to this thread and, as mentioned above me, it's not hurting TT's profit margins, since they've already sold their copies. |

I’m not saying this to stir the pot but what’s the problem with discussing alternate versions of TT releases that AREN’T sold out? I mean if someone came on here who was interested in buying Suddenly Last Summer and we discussed the pros and cons of the Twilight Time release versus the Powerhouse release (or at least made each other aware of the existence of other versions) and did so without label bashing, why would that be an issue?
