How did you order NOTLD when it's sold out? Assuming you meant you ordered it through SAE along with the Blue Lagoon.

Guess I should have worded that better. Ordered Blue Lagoon through SAE $35 with shipping and Night of the Living Dead New & Sealed on ebay $40 with shipping.

Wow, NOTLD new and shipped only $40 on ebay? Think that seller took a small loss, although I have no idea where the fee scale is these days. Back when I sold lots of stuff around 2000, I'd barely make a penny for selling something for $40 I paid $35 for, and that wasn't including shipping either. Today it has to be a loss, fees never go down! Congrats on finding what is basically just a late order!

And why is that one 5 dollars more than the rest if there are plenty of copies left? I would have thought that was an indication that it was close to being gone.

TT doesn't raise the price on their titles as they get closer to selling out. Pal Joey is one of the earlier titles and during that time TT was testing out multiple price points with their titles. They eventually settled on the lower price point for their titles. However, the titles which came out at the higher price point retained that pricing scheme. This was discussed in a previous article somewhere ... I'll see if I can find it.

One exception is that TT mentioned Major Dundee will likely be sold at a higher price due to it being a 2-disc release; a first for TT.
Ok, TT's post discussing the different pricing structure was posted on another forum. Here's their post on the topic.

When we first made our deal with Sony we agreed to experiment with 2 price-points -- $34.95 and $29.95 and would eventually settle on one. $29.95 has become the default studio-approved sweet spot, and most, going forward will be at that level. Rare exceptions include Major Dundee which will likely be $34.95 as it is a 2-Blu-ray set, with the restored version on one disc, and the original theatrical cut (never available on DVD) on the other.

Either a loss or barely broke even. If im correct after ebay and paypal fees and shipping he made about 32 bucks. If he bought a bunch of them together then he broke even, if not he lost like 3 dollars.

Yeah, nobody is making money on NOTLD by reselling it. Maybe that will keep some of the speculators from purchasing multiples.

Well I would like to believe that but don't count on it. For the first 2 or 3 weeks they were going for at least 80(I saw one go for 100). Then they slowly dropped to 70, 60, 50 and now apparently 40. However that is when the news of the transfer came out. The other releases will not have that transfer problem. So that just means you have to price yours to sell in the first week or so. Also Christine will be even more in demand because it's early Carpenter, Stephen King and it's just an all around better movie, a horror classic really. NOTLD was not, some considered it a down right abomination for even existing.

No if you want The Blob, Christine, or The Fury I would suggest getting that pre-order in the first day or so. Don't count on the scalpers going away because I doubt they are, even if it means waiting a little longer.

I will be buying day one . If people want to buy multiple that is their decision...just did not work out for most with NOTLD. Maybe some were able to sell them @ebay for $70 or $80 but I do not believe many were that lucky.

Got Blue Lagoon today and oddly enough, it came with a Pal Joey magnet. Works for me since I got Pal Joey through a trade and obviously didn't come with a magnet.

I'm glad you finally get this magnet!

(it's right, it didn't come with it when I ordered it before trading it with you... I "only" got Mysterious Island, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Fright Night, As Good as it Gets and The Big Heat magnets so far)

I got one with Fright Night. I've gotten two other Tt movies that didn't come with them but I didn't really care. The only reason I liked the Fright night one so much is because its my favorite movie.

I threw a magnet away and played with another one to the point where the backing began to peel away (I was bored at work ). Should I have sold them on ebay instead?

At least $10 to $15 bucks Torrente...last I checked. I think Mysterious Island now gets even more, assuming you can find somebody willing to part with one.

I've got 2 of those...plus a lot of CD soundtrack promos.

Anyone need a "Battle of Neretva" magnet? I finally broke down and bought* the damn soundtrack so they wouldn't send me any more.

* It's a Herrmann classic...I would have anyway.

Hey Bud...yeah, imagine my surprise when SA sent one with my Blue Lagoon. I didn't ask for it either, but not complaining.

I heard Journey was the last to get it?

Did you buy those pretty close to their respective release dates? I think the magnets only came with the first x units (where x is a positive integer).
