Rapture is a perfect example; Swamp Water, The Secret of Santa Vittoria, Chilly Scenes of Winter, Who'll Stop the Rain, Cutter's Way, and many others exemplify TT's value to physical media collectors, and my library would be woefully lacking and incomplete without them. |

Exactly. Everyone has their collection of underseen gems, and TT has released a number of awesome, obscure movies that don't usually appear on "all-time classic movie" lists.

Films like Rapture and Swamp Water I would honestly NEVER have even known about. For Sean -- I actually was going to included Swamp Water in my last post as a second example FWIW MODEL SHOP appears SOLD OUT on tt.com site and now is an SAE only (for the US copy) |

There's about 25 that I don't currently own, mostly because I've held off the last couple of years on buying as many TT titles as I have in the past. I've been waiting for sales, and while this sale is tempting, there are some sale titles that I want, but there are also many that are still stuck at $14.95. I think I'll think on it a bit.

TT chose movies for release the way I would, out of a love of film first and all other considerations after. Both TT and KINO are the labels that come the closest to the way I would run a label if I were in charge. Damn the bottom line, this is about art and fun. ![]() |

It's nice that Twilight Time kept the last sales prices active instead of jacking them up again. That way, people can still buy titles they might have held off on but are still interested in, at a decent price ... without being forced to buy 10 titles (if they're only interested in a few).

One of that crowd for me was Next Stop, Greenwich Village. I'd only seen a couple of Mazursky's films back in the day, and they didn't make much of an impression on me then. I got the disc recently as part of their current sale, and in scanning through it (I tend to scan through discs right away to catch any glitches, especially when I may not be able to get a replacement later on), it really caught my attention. Shortly thereafter, I made a point of watching it, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

If you give me a list of the titles you're interested in I can pull those out, but in general at twilighttimemovies.com (all are also at SAE). Is this all of them b/c I feel like I missing some (not counting those that have already sold out) Alice 156 Another Woman 44 -- has been selling steadily about 10 copies per week with no real spurts unlike some other titles Bananas 440 Everything You Wanted to Know 87 Husbands and Wives 267 Interiors 111 Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy 268 September 282 Shadows and Fog 320 Stardust Memories 362 Zelig 307 Only at SAE Manhattan Murder Mystery - this would be the one item that might sell out quickly since lately anything SAE drops below 50 it's typically sold out within a few hours. While it's possible that resellers are just waiting for that last drop to scoop up all the last copies, I get the feeling the SAE inventory just isn't very accurate anymore Last edited by hariseldon; 05-05-2020 at 07:46 PM. |

I'll throw out a bit of a flag on a couple titles that are selling quite crisply -- one I could predict, the other has shocked me a bit not b/c of the quality Item, but it's not usually a category I would have expected.
The 2 titles that appear to have sold 100+ copies in the last 4 weeks at ttm Seven-Ups at around 110 I not shocked at all. Roy Scheider, Philip D’Antoni, very popular genre coming off The French Connection, decently well know movie -- what's not to like Absolute Beginners -- 110 copies sold in 4 weeks and close to 50 in the last 10 days. I will admit I'm a bit surprised to the point of being shocked at this one. Being $5 admittedly helps, but there are other $5 items that haven't anywhere near as many copies. On my list of fewest copies left -- in the last month it's moved from around 40th in early April to 4th now. |

SAE was the main (often only) site that sold TT for many years before twilighttimemovies opened a parallel direct site in ?2015. They appear to split most of the titles, but dont seem to do a lot of sharing. As best as I can they each get about 1/2 the stock. Many of the items released prior to ttm opening have essentially stayed SAE only though most of them are now sold out. I think the owners of TT had a long standing relationship with SAE due to their interest in Soundtracks so it was easy to use that mom/pop outlet to sell most of their Movie Releases, esp when there were only 2-3/month.
Prices and most sales are the same. TTM ships out of texas SAE Virginia I;ve always ordered from SAE since they are 1 state over and my packaged arrive in 2-3 days with pretty much stellar packaging/service. Some like TTM better - for larger orders their shipping in cheaper but up 10 titles it's really pretty much identical. TTM has some discount promotions fro doing reviews on prior orders which SAE doesn't have. The current 10 for 115 sale is one of the few ttm exclusive sales I can remember -- usually they run simultaneous equivalent sales. Last edited by hariseldon; 05-05-2020 at 10:24 PM. |

Do the Arrow and Twilight Time (and MGM US) editions of Woody Allen's films have the same transfers for the United Artists and Orion titles?
I'm trying to decide whether to order what's still in print from TT and fill in the OOP ones from Arrow. Though, even Arrow doesn't seem to have Crimes and Misdemeanors in print. I managed to get the first Arrow box, but missed out on the second and third volumes. |
