I just made a huge order with TT, where the shipping is literally half the amount of the discs, and I know that it will be probably be opened and valued.
For this one, I have no problem providing them with the receipt.

So so sad that Twilight Time are gone. They were a fantastic presence on the market.
The good news is that at least for me, they only charged customs on the cost of the items and did not charge it on items+shipping as that would have added another 15 to the cost. Had an issue awhile back where a customs agent took it upon themselves to charge customs on an order of books. They claimed that while books are generally exempt, some of the books advertised other works by the author in the back pages which constituted advertising so they applied VAT as they would with comic books. Took me weeks of back and forth but eventually got the VAT removed but they still tried to charge me a fee for the valuation.

I think that looking at what is left, the chances of another company picking and releasing any of them still in stock titles are slim as quite a few have been there for years with some not even selling out when the price was cut to $4.95.

I know a lot of people will despise this kind of thing and that's totally fine, but I recently made a "Modern Trailer" for the True Story of Jesse James, sourced from my Twilight Time Blu. I've been doing a series of these trailers for older films, in the hopes that they will inspire more people to seek them out.

Consider this also, a small love letter to Twilight Time - saddened by their closing and that this the last chance I have to drive them any sales. Jesse James is not a perfect film by any means, but it is way better than it's original trailer would have you believe

My very first Twilight Time purchase was "The Rains of Ranchipur" some years ago. I think I have about 70 titles right now. It took me some time to warm up to their business model. I think I was in denial that these were "niche" titles at the time. In hindsight, I am grateful to have some films I would never have experienced on blu were it not for their foresight. I am sad to see it come to an end.

Wow, 45 titles have disappeared from the sale list in the 12+ hours since I placed my order. As of this writing, there are 106 discs still remaining for sale. I guess once everyone knew that the prices weren't going to go any lower, and there was a definite end date at which time the site would close, they were willing to put in final orders. At least, that's what did it for me! I still may order additional titles from SAE later, but will wait to see what they do with their pricing. I've already gotten all my "must have" titles; anything remaining is "would be nice to try it out, but I don't have to....."

Lol. Billy Joel's "This Is the Time" was my graduating class' theme song. That was almost thirty years ago, though.

I went with that title. I already have the Eureka MoC release, but this is a newer, supposedly better transfer. I also wanted to get The Black Stallion Returns, a childhood favorite, but I held off for now.

Don't forget this gem from the immortal Vitamin C. This thing was inescapable back then.

Made my final order shortly after the announcement yesterday. The westerns I didn't have yet were the top priority, but I was able to also grab a couple of personal favorites that have since sold out:

1 x Cowboy (Blu-ray)
1 x Cutter's Way (Blu-ray)
1 x Garden of Evil (Blu-ray)
1 x Rollerball (Encore Edition) (Blu-ray)
1 x Gun Fury (3D/2D Blu-ray)
1 x Hour Of The Gun (Blu-ray)
1 x Lawman (Blu-ray)
1 x Play Dirty (Blu-ray)
1 x Wild Bill (Blu-ray)
1 x Geronimo: An American Legend (Blu-ray)
1 x Return of Frank James, The (Blu-ray)
1 x Talk Radio (Blu-ray)
1 x Stagecoach [1966] (Blu-ray)
1 x Bandolero! (Blu-ray)
1 x Warlock (Blu-ray)

I'll miss this company. I never owned a ton of their titles due to the pricing, but I always looked forward to their new release announcements, and I'm quite sure that they gave a number of great films their last and best physical release. RIP TT.

I have only 35 TT titles. My favorite decade for films is the 1970s and I am very grateful to TT for, among others, the George C. Scott and James Caan 70s titles they released. TT was the first to have Hardcore on blu. The Last Detail and Lenny were 2 other must haves for me from TT.

For me, the one big TT title that got away was The Paper Chase. They announced it in March 2019 for an April 2019 release. A few days later they announced that Fox had promised that title to another company and that TT had received Three Coins in the Fountain as a replacement. The Paper Chase has yet to be released on blu, it's been over a year since that announcement. Maybe the Disney deal buried any hopes of it getting a release on blu. I'll always wish that TT had been able to keep it and release it.

Just placed an order for 6 titles. Geronimo sold out, as I was looking at that yesterday and was like I'll wait until tomorrow. Dumb move on my part.

This SALE site is weird---things keep disappearing and then reappearing---I placed an order without MY COUSIN RACHEl just now because its wasn't there, and now it's there again. . . grrrrrr

EDIT----Though when the heavy shipping price jump between 4 and 5 items, the difference in cost of getting RACHEL as a single item is negligible.

SECOND EDIT---Oh no, it's saying not enough on hand. So the listing must be wonky as its on the way out.

SAE's site has been an absolute mess ever since the original March sale started.

You'll still be able to get it at SAE, but move quickly on that one...seeing it in its intended aspect ratio at 1080p was a revelation, and it gave me a greater appreciation for what Hill was trying to do.

Now is the time to jump on any film you have had your eye on. Things have been selling out and the prices will probably never be this low again. Time to stock up

I wish they could pull a copy of Nicholas and Alexandra from somewhere. It's going for over $100 on eBay.
