Magnets were inserted randomly with past orders and since SAE has phased out the magnets for new releases your chance of getting one now is becoming less and less as time goes on.

So, what was the purpose of the magnets then? Anyway, the magnets appeared to be a SAE initiative though.

SAE is responsible for the magnets. TT had nothing to do with them.
imo it would have been great if SAE or TT had done a magnet for each bd release instead of the random way they went about it. anyway, didn't happen, and the program is over now. they still have random magnets left which they are now randomly inserting in orders. ![]() Last edited by Arkadin; 12-31-2012 at 06:14 PM. |

I'm still getting them with my SAE box orders deltasun, but they aren't tied to any new TT releases...in many cases, not even related to TT products, or videos for that matter. In the last half of '12, I received a lot magnets cross-promoting CD soundtracks for sale the site.

...my last order plus freebie DVD has finally completed my TT video collection, including Brian Jamieson's superb Nancy Kwan documentary To Whom It May Concern: Ka Shen's Journey. The final DVD title to find its way into my hands, which I just finished watching, was Woman Obsessed.
What surprised me most about this DVD had nothing to do with the quality of the movie - more of that same Fox Adler-era über-strangeness I find so fascinating, underpinned by yet another interesting 'lost' Hugo Friedhofer score - but rather, the disc itself. Although WO was transferred from a clean print (you can see the oval black punches preceding reel changes), and looked decent enough in upscaled anamorphic widescreen despite some age-related colour issues, what raised both eyebrows was the disc media used. I'd always understood from others posting here and what I read elsewhere that this release was TT's only MOD DVD-R. But if it was a burn back then, it certainly is not now. What I received was a professionally stamped disc just like any other TT edition. So anyone who has been avoiding WO simply because they don't want to buy a DVD-R (that's what kept me away from this title for so long), I can assure you it's not...this title is pressed. Same disc quality as the rest of the TT series. Last edited by ROclockCK; 01-02-2013 at 03:03 AM. |

Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines and Cover Girl both had them, and they followed immediately after As Good As It Gets. But I can't think any new ones after that deltasun.

Journey is almost an annual rite for me Page14. Before Christmas, I watched it again too...the thing just never gets stale. I wish all adventure-fantasy movies were that well written, directed, and performed.

I grew up in a Chicago suburb, and Family Classics is where I first (and regularly) saw 'Mysterious Island'. [That was my first exposure to Harryhausen long before I'd study him enough in my teens to do some model animation.] |
