The scenes with just Welles and Newman acting off each other are the best parts, IMO. |

The conversation about The Long, Hot Summer - which I thought had already gone OOP - being available at SAE made me put in a second order. Tacked on Bound for Glory, which I also thought was already OOP. All in all, Twilight Time is going to make me bankrupt lol.

Okay, just for grins I updated the list of films still available on the Twilight Time site as of 11:00 PM CST this evening. I also tried to designate which titles were released by 20th Century-Fox. I can only guarantee the accuracy of this list until 11:01 CST. After that, you're on your own.

It's no longer available at Twilight Time, which is where most people are currently spending their money because of the extra discount. I bet it will start appearing on lists once buyers turn their attention to SAE. (At least, that's my theory.)

For me personally, I have the UK release which from what I can tell uses the same scan. Otherwise, I would pick it up. I know Michael Caine went through a fallow period of making paycheck films, but I’m in for almost anything he did.

![]() Anyways again Thank You I am very confident the list I sent on my post earlier today will sell out really quickly now at SAE . Anyone whom does not have Peyton Place , Theatre of Blood & Flaming Star should act fast if they want them otherwise I am sure you will pay amuch higher price later for them if you buy them elsewhere |

Big fan of Caine too. In what will probably be my last TT order i picked up 2 of his movies that i was not familiar with as in X,Y and Zee and Harry and Walter go to New York ( he has supporting role in this one). Never seen either of these but thought i'd give them a shot.

![]() While late to the party, you are making up nicely for lost time. That's a great, well-rounded selection, fellow Canuck! I just ordered 19 myself, though I'm a long-time TT collector. TT, along with Criterion (and later on all the other boutique labels), helped me to find and appreciate great films that deviated from my usual loves of sci-fi and animation. I became a fan of TT immediately when they put out Mysterious Island (Harryhausen was always a staple of my film collection from the beginning), and I went on to purchase over 100 of their titles, most of them blind buys! (Come to think of it, it was their laserdisc of Jason and The Argonauts that got me started with Criterion back in the day!) All those titles later, and I have very few regrets. (A couple of disappointing films got flipped on eBay.) I used to think that my film collection was "almost complete," but month after month the boutique labels have introduced me to so many films that have become favourites. I think that Nick Redmond would appreciate knowing that that was part of his legacy for so many of us. |

I also like Romeo is Bleeding. Gary Oldman at his best and Lena Olin's character is insane. Maybe not for everyone, it's a sort of a gangster satire not to be taken over seriously. The supporting cast is a whos who of 80's and 90's character actors and of course Roy Scheider |

Talk Radio had like 1000 copies still left when I checked it around a month ago... actually surprised it went down this quickly!

As for Harry & Walter... that is a picture that should be better known. Maybe it came out too late in the 70's & people were tired of The Sting inspired caper flicks? |

"X, Y and Zee" is an absolute camp classic. I wrote a review a few months back and really enjoyed it.

Finally watched my copy of Beat the Devil tonight. It just isn't the picture I know without all the scratches & wonky sounds of old versions I'm used to. I feel like people who are seeing this for the first time via this blu-ray won't appreciate just how incredible a restoration this is. Definitely Jennifer Jones best film IMO.
The comments a couple pages back about it got me to move this to the top of my to watch pile. Surprised that Bogart wasn't pleased with it. I've always found it to be among my favorites of his pictures alongside The Big Sleep, The African Queen, We're No Angels, & Maltese Falcon. |

One title I'm gonna single out, that I feel is very underrated is Mulligan's Man In The Moon. I've always been a sucker for a good coming-of-age movie, and this is one of the rare ones told from a girl's POV. Beautifully evocative of the era and place represented, with a remarkably natural performance from it's ingenue lead. Not perfect, but she carries the weight of the film on her shoulders quite impressively for a freshman effort. I also love the JNH score. I found it cheap in a HPB last year and it was also kind of a surprise. Like the film itself, it's quietly affecting and woven through with pleasant Americana. Hope I don't regret not getting a spare copy while I was able. |
