The 3rd and final blind buy in my order wasThe Other Side of Midnight. I'm always interested in movies that tanked at the box office esp. when big budget like this was. It came out the same time as Star Wars i read which probably didn't help. The casting is also fascinating , a lead actress i have never heard of ( apologies) and a prominent role for John Beck , a solid actor but hardly a big name at the box office.

I knew you had those listed somewhere.

That was more of a summary post all in a single post for those interested in how many titles this sale has eliminated.

It also helped me internally counting the numbers I knew from Feb 28 at the beginning of the sale to make sure everything had been accounted for. Remo Williams had me confused for a couple weeks b.c it just disappeared without much of a countdown -- it was one of the first titles that went from 50 to 49 to 0 overnight.

Was tempted to throw this into the order, but I figure out of all the titles in the catalog, this one is going to linger around the longest and may get yet another price reduction.

It actually did okay at the box office, showing a modest profit worldwide, but it had been expected to be one of the year's biggest hits - so much so that Fox made it a condition for first run theaters that wanted it that they had to book this scifi film they had that year that everyone knew wasn't going to do any business first...

Initially i thought it sounded like The Thing going up against ET in the theatres -

Watched the trailers for my blind buys and thought this one looked like an interesting journey , so i purchased it.

Looks like THE LONG, HOT SUMMER and THE L-SHAPED ROOM are out of stock on SAE and TT now. Gutted, was waiting on some money and a few days later I could have got them!

Neither of these are OOS...you're a victim of SAE's decrepit search function.

Just google the names of either title + screen archives and you'll find direct links to either.

...to add to that, glad I can help drive some business for at least one title

or just type the title in the search on the site and click search. Don't use the drop down menu.

For SAE, I just go to one of the titles, click on the ‘Twilight Time’ category tag, then select show all titles, sorted by alphabetical order.

Damn, didn’t realize they were closing up shop. I guess the competition from streaming is just too heavy. What a damn shame.

From what I've read, nobody involved was happy with Harry and Walter Go to New York. James Caan referred to it as "Harry and Walter Go to the Toilet."

I haven't seen it, but Caan's opinion is good enough for me.

The comments a couple pages back about it got me to move this to the top of my to watch pile. Surprised that Bogart wasn't pleased with it. I've always found it to be among my favorites of his pictures alongside The Big Sleep, The African Queen, We're No Angels, & Maltese Falcon.
Song of Bernadette (also a TT film) is a million times better JJ flim.

I just received an email from Twilight Time stating that, due to the incredibly high volume of orders, and due to COVID-19 issues, it could take them weeks to process orders, in first-come, first-served order. They also mentioned, in addition to the discounts and promotions already discussed, that they are offering an additional 10% discount on all Twilight Time orders over $500. This is even one more incentive for "speculators" to stock up now.

So, if there's anything you still want, pull the trigger now or regret it later. I don't think that most of these titles will last until the end of the month.

I don't mind waiting to receive my order. The only thing that makes me nervous is that I get the titles that I ordered while they were still in stock, but have since sold out.

Inferno 3D is back in stock...

https://www.twilighttimemovies.com/i...3d-2d-blu-ray/

Edit: Or not. It popped back up on their “Going Fast” page - and also the Sale listings - but doesn’t have a buy option, only a wish list option. Perhaps it was up briefly for whatever reason (cancelled orders?) but then sold out again quickly.
