Nice to see you pick up a couple of the Film4 titles. Man, TT must've taken a bath on those. Only one ever sold out (When the Wind Blows) and the others got their price dropped with each successive sale.

So a small order I had made from Screen Archives before this latest flurry of excitement arrived yesterday. Included was a backup copy of The Seven Ups which I watched tonight. One of my favourite 70s cop flicks with one of the best car chases ever committed to film. It’s still available at SAE and I encourage anyone who likes that type of film to grab it, it’s a stellar release of a stellar film.

Not that it'd be a significant loss, as the deal is only a 45¢ savings per title. As I said, I'm curious.
Here's what they just wrote to me:

We regret to inform you that we do not have stock to fulfill your complete order. We are planning on removing the unavailable title(s) from your order and will refund the purchase price of those titles.

If there was a promotional pricing dependent on that title, we will honor that pricing applied to the rest of your order. Please allow 72 hours for the credit to be applied... (and various other nice words about "being patient with us" due to the large volume of orders...then they list your title)

In my case, the lost title didn't apply to that discount, but they're being very cool about that, anyway.

I'm guessing that a few others here will receive a similar note or two soon...

2) as the orders are being processed - some are being declined/cancelled for various reason -- bad CC, bad buyer with history or issues, ?? if TT is trying to keep out certain notorious resellers or limit shipping to max of a single title so as cancellations are processed, more stock may be returned. Several titles have gone OOS then a few hrs or next day a few copies to nearly 100 show up for sale again (Stanley and Iris, and Greenwich Village went back to nearly 100 copies).

Just looking at the titles added back, almost all the OOS Titles were items that went OOS on Monday and Tues. There are a couple that went OOS Sunday and a group of titles from Monday that all went OOS around the same time. It like they reverted the Listed items to aroung 3-4 am ET Monday, but based on current IN STOCK buttons. Except for those 7-8 times from a few hrs Monday evening it's makes almost a nice pat answer, but not quite.

I saw all that early today and was not to happy to see that . I think they are trans shipping many of the titles from SAE to Twilight Time not in huge numbers but smaller amounts here and there . They are not fully turning the company over till July 1st I believe so this might be there way of maximizing all the sales they can get because for all we know they make more money via what they can get selling at their site than liquidating to SAE .

Who knows ???

This is even one more incentive for "speculators" to stock up now.

So, if there's anything you still want, pull the trigger now or regret it later. I don't think that most of these titles will last until the end of the month.
I saw that too, but they attributed it to orders received over the past three days. They may have gotten the majority of orders at the very beginning, but I placed my order less than an hour after getting the email and my order is still pending. Given they're going in the order of orders received, I'm skeptical they'll actually get majority of orders out over the next several weeks... I'm thinking it could, more likely, be months!

I don't believe they'd be transferring copies from SAE to TTM. Sending small amounts of discs wouldn't be cost effective, and might take awhile given Covid-caused shipping issues.

Besides, what upside would that be to SAE? Let TTM sell them for lower prices, and burn through stock that SAE could sell later on for more money? If TTM sells out of, say, Anne of the Thousand Days and doesn't restock, it's to SAE's benefit, because people who want that film will have to go to SAE to buy it instead.

There's also the fact that the "returning" titles have no "Add to Cart" buttons. Which means that no one can put them into their cart, which means they can't be sold.

If they added the thumbnail, but didn;t allow any orders out of those 50 titles, it makes for a messy website, but not really going to make a difference. It just a dead placeholder in the end making it a little harder to flip through the pages -- another reason I prefer the SAE site anyway

I'm guessing it all is just a web glitch and will fix itself

So far none of the re-added titles have allowed any extra orders. No skin off anyone's nose if do claw back some titles from SAE unless the feeling is that SAE will do better than this current deal which I'm not particularly hopeful

My Google Maps screenshots are too big for this forum to handle, but compare this address to Screen Archives Entertainment, 5239 John Marshall Hwy, Linden, VA 22642.

I had no idea any of these were Film4 titles. Which ones are they? And does that mean I picked extra cool titles?

Why would you need a back-up copy?

The Last Flight is one of my all-time favorite films. Barthelmess is fantastic in it, David Manners gives one of his two best performances (the other is his starring role opposite Barbara Stanwyck in The Miracle Woman), and Helen Chandler is enchantingly odd. One of my favorite pre-Codes.

And Richard Dix ... absolutely! Among my favorites are Hell's Highway, The Lost Squadron, The Public Defender, and Ace of Aces. And of course, he was great in Cimarron.

It appears that both 10 Rillington Place and Comes a Horseman sold out overnight at Twilight Time.

This all means that the release of Alien Nation is not going to happen then, is it?

Both of these films are "niche" titles. Three Coins in the Fountain was filmed on location in Rome and was made during a period when "women's pictures" were kind of a craze again in the 1950s. Twentieth Century-Fox pretty much held the market on these films with this film, "Love is a Many Splendored Thing" among a group of films. International filming became suddenly a hot commodity and lots of studios took advantage. If romantic melodramas a not your thing, this film would likely not be enjoyable. Its a product of its time. Personally I enjoy this film for its stellar cast, including one of my favorite actresses Dorothy McGuire.
