It was pointed out to me that Hell and High Water as well as the OOP House of Bamboo contain stereo or better tracks while the Eureka releases of the same films supposedly contain 2.0 mono. Has anyone had the opportunity to compare the tracks? I own the Eureka releases, but I would prefer to have the superior audio if there are in fact some cues, directionality or separation missing from the 2.0 Eureka tracks when properly matrixed by an AV receiver when compared to the TT discs.

(1) Different cover art for the cases and booklets. In fact, they're swapped. The original edition's case cover art is the same as the encore edition's booklet cover art, and the original edition's booklet cover art is the same as the encore edition's case cover art. In each edition, the disc art is the same as the case cover art. (2) The original edition's cover slip is blank on the inner side, while the the encore edition has a printed image. And the layout of the case's back cover is different. (3) The original edition's extras are just a trailer, and an isolated score track. The encore edition adds an audio commentary, and two short video commentaries, one with Michael Mann and one with Martin Scorsese. Both were ported over from the Columbia DVD edition. On edit: I should clarify that when I say "Both were ported over from the Columbia DVD edition", I mean the two video commentaries. The audio commentary was done for this blu-ray by Lem Dobbs, Julie Kirgo, and Nick Redman. Last edited by jayembee; 05-17-2020 at 08:48 AM. |

Wish my budget would have allowed me to order more, but I was lucky to get BABY BOOM, PEYTON PLACE, BORN FREE, and that all time silent classic, BIRTH OF A NATION...always wanted all of them on Blu Ray, some of these titles have already sold out.
I also already have SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE and THE WAY WE WERE—-too bad I slacked on YENTL and HAWAII. But TT did a great job on its releases, and I’m grateful for that. |

Why? No-one is getting new deals with Fox, so those titles with outstanding units on the contract that could be repressed by SAE (if that's what they intend) go out of print forever while no-one would be able to release the OOP ones anyway and the only Sony deals are Mill Creek (no extras, all expenses spared) and Shout (similar price point, worse compression).

5/10 SAE order: shipped 5/11 SAE order: shipped 5/13 SAE order: not shipped I had a later TT order as well, but since my first one hasn't shipped, it's not really relevant yet. Thanks to all who commented. Placed an Indicator order for some of the titles I was interested in, still looking at others that have been released on other labels as well as watching for TT releases on eBay etc. Last edited by Brandon K; 05-22-2020 at 08:34 PM. |

I placed my order with TT about a week ago now and it's still not shipped; I ordered from SAE the day after, however, and that was shipped within 48 hours; supposed to arrive tomorrow.

Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia Additional commentary 1.0 mono now in a 2.0 container (still the same track) Rollerball Four-track stereo mix in a 2.0 stereo container rather than a mono mix (I assume this is the same track on the Arrow release) The Train 1.0 mono now in a 2.0 container (still the same track) "hidden" radio ad extra now seemingly impossible to access on disc The encoding is slightly different for all the Encore editions that use the same video masters but it's so negligible it's barely worth a mention. |

i would agree, but it’s shocking how much entitled crybabies whine over this. it really makes you wonder, why do they even collect movies?

FWIW:
TT order 05/10/2020: awaiting shipment - 16 titles (Order #72xxx) TT order 05/12/2020: awaiting shipment - 5 titles (Order #76xxx) SAE order 05/12/2020: shipped - 6 titles (expected on Tuesday) 3 of the titles in my first TT order have sold out since the order was placed ... with 2 of those 3 sold out titles being ClassicFlix releases. The Hospital is a superb black comedy in the vein of Network, whose author, Paddy Chayefsky, also penned this excellent film. The Seven-ups is a cop film that I barely remember but I liked it. The Chase is a wonderful but strange picture written by Horton Foote and starring a cast of heavyweights, including Brando, Jane Fonda, Duvall, E.G.Marshall and an up-and-coming Robert Redford. It's one of my favorite films and of this group I recommend it the most. Perfect?? No. Fascinating and fun--- absolutely!! If I were choosing, I'd pick The Chase first and The Hospital and The Incident next. Hope this helps. Of course, it's all just my opinion. (But get The Chase!! It's a hoot.) |

Regarding the Encore Editions: Journey to the Centre of the Earth got a brand new, much improved scan. If you want to track down that title, defintiely look for the second release.
