All terrible, but still better than Peyton Place.
I’m not sure what purpose you think it serves to dump on a movie more than once in the same thread. You didn’t like the movie, we got that the first time you said it. Why continue to repeat your disdain when it’s already evident and obvious to everyone how you feel about it? And then repeat it more offensively as if that will help convince others to think the same way. Is it because others defended the movie after your initial criticism that you got butt hurt no one agreed with you and you felt compelled to reiterate your position? If so, you shouldn’t be on forums in the first place.

They're sold out on TTM. About 40-45 titles that sold out Sunday and Monday during the massive purge were removed like normal, but sometime later the website had some sort of seizure and bunch were added back to the active list, but without an ability to add them to the cart. I'm not sure why they haven't fixed it in 4-5 days, but they seem to be somewhat busy

On the list where you can see 16 per page, the active items show the add to cart button there, the dead item just show a picture/name of the cover, but no ADD TO CART under them (ignore them)

There are only 61 active items right now on the TTM site

It means that TT ran out of stock and doesn't sell them anymore. If SAE doesn't have them for sale either, then those movies are sold out.

some thoughts on some titles that didn’t see mentioned very much: (available on screen archives, if not on twilight time)

the hot rock isn’t available on the twilight time website anymore, but it available on screen archives, and is a fun movie i never heard of until they mentioned it playing at the new beverly. 70s heist with robert redford. how can you go wrong?

the crimson kimono is a decent film noir. if you’re curious, it’s playing on the criterion channel right now as well. i’m not familiar with fuller’s work as a director, so i can’t say how it compares to the others.

romeo is bleeding is fantastic, and i really can’t believe it never sold out. it’s wild. lena olin and gary oldman are great, and there is an action sequence in this movie that is bonkers.

short night of glass dolls is fun if you’re someone who likes gialli. and it’s in 2.35:1

rapid fire is one i watched all the time on hbo back in the day and is the best brandon lee movie. it’s a shame we didn’t get more with him.

sayonara is a great drama from the 50s. i only watched it once like fifteen years ago. but if you want a character drama with brando, while this isn’t his best work it is solid and enjoyable.

the seven ups is great to see more roy scheider in a non jaws context. this isn’t as good as the french connection or sorcerer or jaws. he had such a fantastic range in the 70s (even doing all that jazz at the end of the decade)

8 heads in a duffel bag is funnier that you’d expect it to be. worth it during the sale. highly doubt that title is ever released again.

i own most of these, and have seen all of them. the majority of the sale for me is all blind buys.

Looking through his feedbacks, it looks like many times he has had to accept offers that were less than what he was selling it for. Also get a hold of his

Nice! These 3 are in my orders. Definitely looking forward to more Roy Scheider, I like him a lot but for some reason I've never looked up his filmography beyond Jaws, 2010, and seaQuest!

I got the "Important Update" shipping delay email today (having not received it previously), the order # cited was my last order from the 12th, still no movement on my orders from the 10th.

All but one of my SAE orders have shipped (the last one being from 5/14, the ones that shipped from 5/10 through 5/13), and on a side note, orders I put in with Kino and Indicator have shipped as well.

Yeah, Arrow has sales galore in the US. B&N literally holds one in tandem often with their Criterion sales and then Diabolik and BullMoose frequently hold smaller Arrow sales during the year. Then, I'm sure there are more retailers I'm missing here.

sorcerer is one i hadn’t seen until the last couple years, but i absolutely love that movie. all that jazz is worth picking up during one of those 50% off sales. it’s not for everyone, but it is beautifully filmed and stylish. he’s got a small role in klute as well, but it’s very a small role. so while that is a solid movie, if you buy it just for him... you’ll be disappointed.

i’d also recommend 52 pick up. i think there is a kink release for that one. but it is bare bones.

This ties into something I was thinking about: most of the titles I recently ordered from TT/SAE are blind buys and while I'm excited to see all of them, the ones I'm most super excited about are The Seven-Ups, Eureka, Comes A Horseman, Angel (Danny Boy), Bullet Train and probably also Model Shop. Love to find out what are everyone's most anticipated TT blind buys.

The difference, of course, is that they were great for multiple decades while Scheider was like a 70s meteor...he's the actor's edition of Hal Ashby.

not to be a downer, model shop is good movie, but almost feels like a letdown compared to his musicals. it’s more like lola or bay of angels. so don’t expect something like cherbourg or rochefort. because it’s not that movie. but there’s to indicate that it would be a musical, so you’ll be fine,

i almost snagged eureka because i do really like some nicholas roeg.

grabbed bullet train out of curiosity. really want to watch hussy. impossible for me to not be interested in a movie where helen mirren is a hooker.

Yeah I probably should have picked that one up. Now that I think about it, not sure why I didn't. Had to make some hard choices even though it feels like I just sort of swept everything off the shelf (but of course, that's not really the case).

Somehow I had either forgotten or never knew about Eureka and it just seems insanely overstuffed with all the things that make movies interesting, so I'm desperate to watch it.

Would have grabbed Cutter's Way and Romeo Is Bleeding if I didn't already have them on DVD and I wanted to avoid double dipping (although I did break that rule but only twice) and now I have to live with the consequences of that decision whatever they may be.

He's also very good in a featured role as Dustin Hoffman's brother in Marathon Man. I think Laurence Olivier steals the movie as a diabolical villain, but Scheider is able to make his few scenes count.

You might also want to check him out in director Robert Benton's thriller Still of the Night. The script isn't quite up to snuff, but top-billed Scheider and his leading lady (Meryl Streep) are quite good, and they receive noteworthy support from Jessica Tandy. The production is handsome, and Nestor Almendros' cinematography is superb.

Scheider's 80s highlight has to be fulfilling what I'm sure had to be a lifelong dream in working with cinematic visionary Kirk Cameron in 1989's "Listen to Me".
