Because the prices were never this low before.

There are a litany of possible reasons that make these questions irrelevant. Maybe he's been prioritizing other sales; maybe he's been incarcerated, or was the victim of a tragic accident. Maybe he's been impacted by a worldwide pandemic more than you've been, and hasn't had the disposable income to purchase these titles earlier. Or maybe (as by his own admission), he's a newcomer to the label and was clueless about a 3-month sale.

None of this matters even a little bit. If he did get his order in when stock was showing available, then he has a legitimate gripe.

On May 10 I ordered 17 titles (order # 71**) and not one of them are sold out on SAE. I have not received a shipping confirmation or have I been refunded for any out of stock titles.

I would think TT could and would fetch any titles from SAE to fulfill my order if need be. I just can't believe that a May 10th order would not be filled by TT due to stock limitations. That would be very bad business. My order was at the start of this sale. My titles should have been one of the earliest to be picked.

Guess I'll find out eventually.

really surprising that with the talk of possible cancellations, that people aren’t placing orders for titles on screen archives.

they’ve said it could takes weeks to fulfill the orders. it’s barely been ten days.

Problem -- why would Walmart help Target fill orders. Not quite the same, but TTm and SAE are separate companies contracting for TT products

True TTM could buy them back from SAE and ship them back to Texas, but costing themselves money on both sides of the equation. Seems a bit self destructive unless there is some sort of sweetheart clawback clause in the TT/SAE contract.

If TTM was going to be an ongoing company and trying to satisfy customers for a future purchase then it makes sense and I do think SAE and TTM have exchanged products before, but the situation seems a bit different here.

If it's going to cost you $15 to sell a $10 item -- it's easier just to refund the customer.

That would be easier if folks knew which items specifically were being cancelled. Some people do seem to know, but others are seemingly jsut getting a blind refund for a 'cancelled item." Or worse 1 item from 3 separate orders -- if all the other items were 100% shipping then it would be easier to place a single order at SAE to replace those items which are hopefully still available.

So far only a handful of items that were at both places on 5/10 have gone OOS at both. 5 others have gone OOS at SAE in that time, but those were only at SAE to begin with

Gun Fury 3D
Inferno 3D
Eye of the Needle
Peyton Place
Cowboy

I guess add Most Beautiful Wife which went OOS at TTM and was only at that shop on 5/10. It went OOS in the first hour or two of the sale since there were only 15-20 (+/-) remaining Sunday morning before the craziness started

It’s a wonderful feeling! Kinda’ like a warm hug all over.

Also, I’d like to thank folks here like hariseldon, bdgking, Jayembee, and others who have been putting in the time and effort to keep us posted on the # of copies remaining on titles. Thanks to them I was able to pick up a few prior to the big announcement of the 10th before they sold out.

Just how many times can someone keep on repeating "you had enough time to buy these months before the sale" as a justification for saying that they should not be complaining if their orders get cancelled? I mean, we get it. It's quite annoying, it translates into "you should have bought them at higher price before the sale and it's only your fault to waiting until the last minute you fool". That's how I am beginning to read it's not nice. Not everyone can afford discs 30 bucks a title.

Except most of these titles for the last six months have not been $30 a pop. TT/SAE have basically been liquidating their titles for the last six months all of September, late November-December 2019 and then the March Madness sale that was extended into April and now a liquidation sale. People have had there chances to buy these titles on sale. The mass majority of titles have not been $30 for a long time for like 95% of their films

Twilight Time and SAE are totally different entities. They do not share stock. They do not swap stock. I would bet SAE is very happy that TT is selling out on titles as that means customers can readily go to them and pay more for that title.

I've seen TT titles show up there out of the blue months after they went out of print. I can think of two titles. One, Major Dundee, was sale priced!

I think there were many titles that went into an intial run, sold out, and then another pressing was done.

However, I have had customer service tell me that both stores are run independently of each other. There have been many instances where both stores didn't run the same sales at the same time.

Major Dundee only had one 3,000 unit run, it showed up on SAE after it had gone OOP, for $14.95 I believe, but I see it was an SAE exclusive. The other I remember that showed up at SAE quite a bit after confirmed sellout was the Egyptian, but it was gone days later.

Interesting.

There's a lot we don't know, obviously.

However, I am just passing on information I received from TT support that they don't share inventory which was something that was complained about in this thread.

It's been talked about in the forum. I believe someone suggested they may have either been returns, or limited discovered stock.

It's funny how people always seem to have money at the 11th hour whenever there's a sale but not the rest of the time

I placed an order with Twilight Time on 5/10 and another on 5/12. I still haven’t received an update on either order since then. That cuts it for me. As soon as this sale is over, I’m never doing business with them again!

Laugh! They are going out of business. I doubt you will order from them again.

My order has been sitting for almost two weeks now too. However, I got a newsletter from them explaining they are thousands of orders behind and trying their best to catch up. I have no problem giving them a break under the circumstances.

Yeah, I placed two orders---one that Monday around 11:30am or so of 4 items (I received one of those emails about how all of the orders are backed up kinda shortly after). And then another the next day (I fell for the 10 for 115 thing), and on Tuesday afternoon I received one of those backed up announcements for that specific order. So things are certainly moving along there, albeit with delays.

Agreed. If they say the item is in stock when you order I would say that you have the right to expect to get what you pay for.

Yes, in most cases people (including me) could have put their orders a month ago... That’s fair to point out, but it doesn’t change the bottomline. TT should be shipping orders in linear fashion.
