Or March of last year? Or any of the other number of times they were on sale?
Some people took this opportunity to purchase some titles they didn’t otherwise want before because they knew this would be their last chance.

Of course, how could I be so callous as to forget about all those guys who missed out on the blu-ray of Peyton Place because they were doing hard time at San Quentin?

I don't know, how many times do I have to keep saying it until you clue in that these titles didn't just go on sale on May 10th? That they've been on sale continuously since the beginning of March! I had no problem ordering all of the titles I wanted in March and April at sale prices but of course as soon as Twilight Time make it official that they're going out of business and knock another couple bucks off each title all of a sudden everyone has just found out about Twilight Time and this sale, and has somehow managed to find enough money to put in orders of 15-20 titles at $12 a pop.

I acknowledge that it kinda sucks to order something and then have it cancelled but, I mean, them's the breaks and you still get your money back.

So I guess you missed the part where I said that if someone wanted the title(s) that got cancelled badly enough that they're now contemplating going to E-bay, which doesn't sound like titles "they didn't want otherwise"? The last order I have remaining to be fulfilled has titles that I "didn't want otherwise" and if some end up getting cancelled from that order, so be it.

Yay! I just received an email from Screen Archives that my order from 5/14 has shipped. So, it looks like I will be getting Hell and High Water and 10 Rillington Place.

Still waiting on my 5/10 and 5/12 Twilight Time orders.

Not necessarily direct returns since many of these late sales were years after the sell out. Most of them like Dundee were 2-3 units and often Only 1 item

Promo Items that were released into general sale in case 3000 were never sold (lost/damaged shipments, broken copies at the warehouse that couldn't be sold)
Held back extras above the 3000 that were to be used as replacement disc for lost items or defective discs

SAE does have a USED Disc section so they buy certain collections so easily someone could have bought it years ago, never watched it and then SAE bought it for 50% then resold it at regular price.

Dundee was not a repressing since virtually all those first 4-5 years were full 3000 unit (plus a few spares not meant for sale). The partial pressing was a pretty recent thing once items stopped selling out or even selling rapidly as preorders. It was one of those items that was only sold at SAE like most of the 2011-2014 releases. I remember Dundee selling out during a sale, I don't remember when it came back into stock, but a couple people do so I'll take their word -- does anyone remember when or how many extra copies were on the 2nd Chance?

It's funny how you missed the point of and can offer zero counterargument to this:

"If he did get his order in when stock was showing available, then he has a legitimate gripe."

So nice to see a post by one of the few genuine adults left on this thread. Ever since the final sale started this thread has become infected with whiny infants who came to the party late and discovered no one saved a piece of birthday cake for them. Nothing has been done with my order from two weeks ago and I couldn't care less, nor will I throw a hissy fit if anything gets canceled. I've got way more important things to worry about and rant and rave over than Blu-rays, something in my life that is supposed to make me happy, not miserable.

Spare me all the "This isn't the way a business should operate" and "It's about the principle of the thing" and "Hey, this is a legitimate gripe." You know what? I don't believe a word of that. You can't get what you want and now you have to tell the world how butt hurt you are. Go try Amazon right now during this world crisis and see if you like that any better. I too have had some meltdowns during these crazy times and I've gotten mad at a retailer or two, about food and not movies, but it was still being childishly selfish and I'm ashamed of my behavior for it. I understand the importance of venting, but it has gotten to be embarrassing the way people are acting here.

That was beautiful. I am wiping away a tear.

I can't believe all these complaints about a company going out of business, the number of orders (thousands of them) they had to endure all at once and the impatience by their customers about having to wait for their orders to ship. You would think this company was dealing with mailing medication to people. These are f-ing Blu-rays for God's sake. In this time of COVID-19 and the sheer amount of pressure this company is under to get out an unprecedented amount of orders, you would think people would be a little more understanding about it all.

And of course, with hundreds of people putting the same items in their cart at once, some are not going to get everything they wanted when the dust settles. I can't tell you how many times I ordered a Funko Pop when it went live and even though it ended up in my cart, someone else got it.

I have accepted my order may not ship for several more weeks and I am fine with that. You should be too!

Echo, I went to Best Buy a couple weeks ago to buy a new modem and the dude who worked there put it in the back seat of my car instead of my trunk. I completely flew off the handle, punched the guy in the face and threatened to contact upper management. I quickly realized the error of my ways and apologized and he just said, "We're all a little on edge now."

In all seriousness, great perspective in your post.

I again won't quote as I honestly don't care who said it but while I agree that there is no point complaining about delays as we have been warned with a nice email from Twilight, nobody has the right to put down people for airing the unhappiness about losing out on some titles. The nature of a sale is that.
I also agree that in this current situation I cut TT all slack they need, and I was just confirmed one item from my order was out of stock.
But to indirectly say that anyone complaining is a child, come on.
And saying there are more important things in life that not getting a movie? You are typing those posts on a forum dedicated to that very thing, you cannot use that excuse.
Come by my house for some hankies to wipe away those tears. They are free and won't run out.

Well, I got a shipping notice from SAE just now. Interesting thing is that it's for the second order I placed (11 titles). My first order was 18 titles and is still in Pending status.

So SAE is making a dent in orders placed on 5/15.

5/15 order (18 titles): Pending
5/15 order (11 titles): SHIPPED (5/21)
5/16 order (8 titles): SHIPPED (5/21)
5/18 order (8 titles): Pending
