The TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK notes are interesting. Taking inventory? Will press more?

Should be my last order, picked up Dragonwyck, My Cousin Rachel, The Hospital, Eureka and A Prayer for the Dying. Especially excited to watch The Hospital, always love George Scott. Still regret never getting Hardcore

Good point, I was only thinking of the twilight time. I have the Indicator releases of Body Double, Experiment in Terror and The Big Heat and they are all great. I'll have to get that as well

Made one last order with SAE (for this sale anyway) :

The tipping point for me was when I noticed that several titles that I had in my wishlist were listed as low quantity on their latest email (Contessa, Devil, Eureka, "Everything...*"). I didn't want to miss out on them so there it is.

I have a few more on my wishlist but I'll leave those for possibly lower prices later. I'm done for now though.

Famous last words

I thought I was done too, but I did another pass on SAE and this time expanded my research to screenshots and reviews from other sites for titles where Blu-ray.com did not provide any. As a result, I further expanded my wishlist and ended up ordering another 9 releases, bringing my total "latecomer discovering TT" orders to 59 releases (62 films, with 3 being 2-title sets)

They also have a region free release of Hal Ashby's The Last Detail with many more special features than the OOP TT.
I hope Columbia/Sony either reissues the film soon in North America or licenses it to a company like Criterion so that more people get a chance to see it. My local library system has a huge dvd/ blu-ray collection and they always purchase multiple copies of Criterion releases. Then hundreds of people are able to see great films for the price - free - of a libray card.

i hate these type of posts the most and they’re in almost every thread. way too much. you’d think this was a shipping companies fan site, because those posts sadly outnumber discussion of movies...

but. i placed my order on may 10th for fourteen titles. twelve of which have since gone out of stock and said they wouldn’t be able to be reordered.

my order shipped today. i never received an email at any point saying any titles had been cancelled. and they've all been included. so i just want to reiterate that no news is good news, if you didn’t get anything from twilight time specifically saying that a title was cancelled, there is no reason to think otherwise.

i said this before, but it still makes me sad they’re closing. all the titles in the mail are blind buys and movies i haven’t heard before, and these are all older films that i probably wouldn’t have a chance to see otherwise. yes, we still have kino and criterion, but they can’t put out everything.

a label is curation. the most popular streaming services are garbage. amazon video is impossible to search. i do very much enjoy that the criterion channel will actually send you an email to tell you the new stuff that is coming out on it. which is great. i can’t recommend the criterion channel enough.

i can’t wait to dig into these movies when they arrive, whenever they arrive.

I really enjoyed Model Shop. Anouk Aimee is beautiful as usual. The driving around LA must have had some influence on Tarantino for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

You could avoid that problem by making a bigger order to begin with. You'd save on shipping and get a better discount. Plus, you get to worry about fewer orders having items go OOP while others get theirs shipped despite ordering after you.

No idea, but I check into the 3 concurrent Twilight Time threads once a day or so and that seems to be the theme. Anecdotally speaking, my big order from 5/11 has not shipped.

Colonel, my post about the seventh order was supposed to be a joke. Maybe not a funny one, but still a joke.

I understand SAE sent out a newsletter this weekend. I don't receive it. Has anyone any word on new low quantity titles at SAE?

I missed out on Gloria, but I feel like it's inevitable this will get a re-release from Criterion.I do wonder what's up with those temporarily out of stock titles.

Earlier today one of my favorite posters on the site made a joke (since deleted) in the KINO thread and I completely missed that it was a joke. I was so disappointed in the guy cause I always thought he was one of the really cool dudes here. It was pointed out to someone who also had missed it that the OP was engaging in satire and was not being sincere. Then I saw that it was indeed a joke and had really flown over my head. Whoops. I was relieved that this guy I like was not being serious, but I was disappointed in myself for not seeing that from the start!
