If you're talking about the film itself, I found it a bit too long and meandering but there were some good moments, especially toward the end. As for the technical aspects, I'm not picky at all so I can't say I recall any issues with the video or audio.

I just finally cracked open The Blob. It had been on my shelf since I received it from TT and I kinda forgot about it. I realized I have several copies of Christine and both versions of Fright Night as well. Good thing October is just around the corner, they'll make good gifts for friends.

You're going to likely be sorely disappointed with the DVD for Violent Saturday. It's letterboxed, not anamorphically enhanced (it's a port of an old laserdisc master), so unless you're watching it on an old CRT television, you'll have to manually zoom in the image. And with an aspect ratio of 2.55.1, that's going to take a lot of zooming and loss of detail.

I had two shipments from SAE in the past 6 weeks or so and on both got stung for the charges

Can I ask how many discs were in each shipment and what your additional cost was?

Is Count Yorga, Vampire sold out? I just went to Screen Archive's website and placed an order for it, and now the title no longer appears on their site. It says my order is pending, though.

3 discs and two discs - there wasn't much difference between the cost of the 2 shipment charges , 12 - 13 pounds - its the royal mail handling fee part that cracks me up.

The same was true of The Kremlin Letter. Hmmm. I haven't looked at my copy of Woman Obsessed; I wonder if that's the same.

I remembered Violent Saturday looked terrible when I cropped and enlarged it. Woman Obsessed was not bad in comparison.

Thankfully, Woman Obsessed is anamorphically enhanced, and for a DVD, it's a strong transfer.

I notice they've also been sending out shipment confirmation emails that point to a tracking site, AfterShip, which I don't recall on my earlier orders. Anyway, I thought I'd mention it, just in case.
FYI, I was able to log into my Twilight Time account this morning and check the status of my order from July 1st. It still has not shipped.

It looks like they are leaving the lights on until everything has shipped.

It was supposed to be sold out weeks ago (TTM did have 1-2 copies in their July 1 OLD STOCK sale), but SAE will have an odd copy or two show up later on occasion. I'm not sure if they are found copies, returned copies, or bought from collector copies.

Usually those one-off finds tend to be priced $30 instead of sales price -- what was your price?

Pending is good -- SAE generally runs a pretty tight inventory and are far less prone to selling things they don't have in stock, but it has happened

It was $19.95.

I was reading through a thread in the Movies subforum about good vampire movies, and someone recommended the Count Yorga movies, so I figured I'd check them out. I bought the sequel off Amazon, but the original was only listed from third-party sellers but fulfilled through Amazon. I decided to go through Screen Archives instead since it was from Twilight Times, and when I saw that they had it listed, I placed an order.

An unusual price (it was 8.95 during the recent sale), but worth it if it's a new sealed item.

To confirm, The Fantasticks doesn't have inner printing on the trapsheet, like all the other TT releases do? One of my recent SAE orders arrived today, and I was curious to see that.

I wonder when the next SAE sale is going to be. Hopefully there's a real good one around Black Friday.

I have a few others like this (Absolute Beginners, The Disappearance, The Believers, Alamo Bay, Bite The Bullet) and maybe more since I haven't checked them all, but you've made me want to do that!

I always liked these films, but fair warning that the first one drags a little at times. The second one had a bit more money invested and I’ve always thought it was great. Once it gets going, it never lets up.

I also loved that both were set in contemporary times in the USA as opposed to some vague gothic era in Europe. I believe the success of these spawned more vampire films to be set in modern times.
