My copy of Count Yorga, Vampire came in yesterday, and it was new and sealed. I guess they must have either found a copy in their warehouse or someone canceled an order.

I watched it last night, and I can see what you mean about it being a bit slow in places, but I enjoyed it. I should have picked this one up long ago instead of waiting until it went out of print, as I usually pick up most of the horror titles from Twilight Times. I don't know how I missed this one. I also picked up a copy of The Return of Count Yorga, and that's the next movie I'll watch.

I finally pulled the trigger on three titles that I had in my cart at SAE:

[Show spoiler]

Anastasia is the title that I had ordered from Twilight Time on July 1st that they weren't able to fulfill. I'm not usually a fan of historical dramas, but Ingrid Bergman won an Oscar for her performance, plus good extras and another Alfred Newman score for my collection. Edge of Eternity, in addition to Don Siegel and a great southwest setting, it boasts a Nick Redman commentary track, so that made it a must-have. Finally, My Cousin Rachel for Miss Olivia.

That's it. I'm done. Thank you Twilight Time and SAE!

So glad you liked it, Ken, and you didn't feel I steered you wrong. I have to tell you I saw them both when they were first released to theaters and I was only 12-13 years old. They both kept me awake at night and when I did fall asleep I had terrible nightmares! In other words, I loved them!

I hope you enjoy RETURN as well.

All fine picks.

The Snake Pit I think is the standout.

Out of the three, My Cousin Rachel is the only one I had not bought in the TT sale because I had already bought too many titles and no matter how much I read or watched clips on youtube I just couldn't find enough interest in it, but I now bought it from SAE before it's too late.

As I noted earlier in the thread, My Cousin Rachel is great and I found it a much stronger film than the similar Dragonwyck.

It's one of two TT titles (Hour of the Gun) still on my wish list, but I'm waiting to see if SAE has any upcoming deals and it doesn't appear to be in any danger of selling out.

The Return of Count Yorga was also a lot of fun! I enjoyed both immensely and I'm glad to have them in my collection.

It's the end of another month, and SAE stated in their latest e-mail that they're now the sole proprietor of TT's assets, so it seems to be official now. I wonder if tomorrow there'll finally be any changes to the current situation, even if it's just adjustments to the pricing. I really want to get some idea of how I should proceed with buying the remaining available titles I want.

Depends. We're still technically at the sales prices stipulated back in March, and in other circumstances they'd go back to full price when said sale ended. But after almost 4 months like this I don't know if they can go back without many costumers simply deciding to hold off until another sale(as happens with most people but even more this time). After everyone picking TT's stock clean, sales on SAE seem to have normalized, and I suspect most people are waiting to see if any prices go down before buying much else. There's also the question of what's actually going to happen with TT's assets or if they're just going to sell the remaining stock, and even if it's increasingly extremely likely that nothing amazing's going to happen, we haven't got any concrete information from therm. I just want some form of a statement.

Received one of my last TT orders, was hit with ~$25 customs (40% of which was just a processing fee and not the actual duties)... the shipment having hit the threshold due to the customs being filled out wrong. They declared 5 empty cases (on sale for $0.50 each at the end of the sale) as $25.00 instead of $2.50

On a different note, has anyone noticed that shipments from TT... smell weird? They smell bad, I have to try and air them out when they arrive. Have experienced this on 3 or 4 shipments now and expecting the same on my remaining shipments, whereas SAE stock from many orders smells normal.

Well I wouldn't say, many titles go for 100$+, all it would take is for some to sell out (or scalpers buy them up) and list them with absurd prices, that's how it often starts. And with the added factor that TT is gone, makes tham even more in demand.

Maybe, maybe not. All 10 of SAE's weekly top DVD/Blu-ray titles are TT titles this week, with different titles going in and out of the list each week - it's one indicator to watch, to at least get an idea if TT sales are remaining more popular than their titles from other labels.

After reviewing SAE's inventory too many times and placing too many orders, I finally made my "really my last TT order" order from SAE only on July 22nd, in the end ordering anything I felt even a passing interest toward, just to wrap things up and not have to worry about it going forward.

I don't think any of SAE's stock is in immediate danger of going low, I don't see anything below 50 at the moment - for some titles based on TT's stock at the end, they'll have a ridiculous amount of inventory - but if you aren't watching it, when titles do dip below 50 they've had a tendency to go fast.

I wish I was getting SAE's email newsletters though... their system says I'm already on the list when I try to resubscribe (ever since May), but I haven't received a single newsletter from them. Do they have a web version like TT does?

Default First Page of thread updated

With Nick's passing and the gradual decline of the Twilight Time facebook page updates, official announcements of sold out titles disappeared. Now that SAE has sent out an email listing remaining stock for all of the sold out titles from both their own and the stock received from the TT site.....I have updated the first posts of this thread.

Looks like 25 titles sold out. I will keep it up to date in the future since there is now only one site selling the titles and stock is much easier for me to track.

There is still a large number of excellent titles remaining.

Definitely recommend it, great movie and release altogether. It was one of my blind buys.

Can someone post this latest SAE email? I'm supposed to be subscribed to their list but not receiving it. Yes, I checked my junk mail etc, and I get all their order status emails, so I'm not sure what's up.

Also, you are moving titles from the original chronological listing into a Sold Out post? Would it not make more sense for posterity to leave the original chronological listings, and have the sold out post be something separate? It would also be nice if the different lists were alphabetical as well, but especially the sold out one, if the chronological ones reflect the original release order.
