I think you might be on to something with Hangover Square and maybe The Lodger too NoirFan, especially with their respective Bernard Herrmann / Hugo Friedhofer scores. Undying Monster seems iffier, but I'd certainly welcome seeing that flick.

What's embarassing is that I just discovered via John Brahm's IMDb listing that I know virtually nothing about his vintage film career...and yet I'm very familiar with his name as a staple of 50s/60s TV shows such as Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Twilight Zone, Naked City, M Squad, The Outer Limits, Thriller, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Dr. Kildare, The Defenders and even The Man/Girl From U.N.C.L.E. During that era, he was everywhere on American network television except sitcoms.

Interesting suggestion(s) NoirFan...I hope good enough audio and video elements exist for TT to at least consider doing Hangover Square.

I would love to see the three Fly films make it to TT! Fox released The Fly Collection back in late 2007, so maybe they have good transfers available. It seems to sell fairly well on Amazon from what I've seen, but I don't know if the numbers are there for a BD release.

With my order, down to 16.

With that said, Flim-Flam Man, along with The Egyptian, Kremlin Letter, Our Man Flint, is on their way.

Wow. they just raised their shipping prices for International orders. I tend to wait until I have around five titles before ordering, but now five titles will cost me $40 for basic shipping to Canada.

Ouch. They're like Flicker Alley, then — I dearly want to support them, and I lust after some of their titles, but (from Australia) I just can't afford their shipping prices.

Tell me about it. I get it postal rates go up, but they've apparently tripled over night. Right...

I've already removed a number of titles from my cart. I'm just not spending that much on these bare-bone releases. I'll get Christine and The Fury, along with the Flint films. But after that I have a feeling I won't be getting any for a long while.

Bummer...although my wallet will be happy.

I guess this applies to international orders? The domestic rates appear to be the same.

Yes.

Wow, that's truly insane. I ordered two titles recently and paid $5.55 for shipping; ordering those same titles today would cost an exorbitant $16!!

I guess I'm done ordering from this company

Although International postal rates have risen recently, something seems a bit wonky with SAE's cart Inspector_Toschi (so what else is new? ). As you add titles it just shows the accumulation of all individual rates with no combined adjustment. However, once you actually log in (via the next screen), your invoice will then show the actual combined total. I just tested this and the shipping cost to Canada for 5 Blu-rays dropped from $40.00 to $11.80 on my invoice, although it still showed $40.00 in the cart in the upper right hand corner.

Have the prices actually gone up accordingly or are they using the increase to charge people even more than necessary? Particle Dan mentions a previous $5.55 charge, now clocking in at $16. Has the USPS rate actually gone up nearly 300%?

Oh, hmm, this might explain it then. Hopefully they fix it before they scare people away with that cart total preview.

Not that high, but for International USPS it's nearly double. Friends stateside are reporting that items going outside the U.S. which used to cost $3 - 4$, are now over $7.

On the other hand, their system might still be calculating combined shipping costs based on the old rates...which would mean that the $11.80 figure I just got might turn out to be too low. Once all the dust settles, we'll no doubt see some kind of increase, but I doubt very much that SAE will actually charge the full individual rate on combined orders. Otherwise, what incentive would there be for buyers to order multiple titles?

USPS international postage rates have never been cheap. Is it also possible SAE wasn't charging the full shipping and handling costs previously ignoring the price increase? Maybe they used the postal increase as an opportune time to appropriately reflect the true shipping cost. Their international shipping fee always seemed low for such a small company.

Current USPS International rates can be found here, but remember these don't include SAE's cost for packaging and handling.

For UK orders it used to be $7 for the first item, plus $2 for each additional item. Now it is $10 plus $2.50.

I can live with that.

That is fantastic news!

I just went through the checkout phase until the very last step, and sure enough after choosing non-registered mail (The last step) did the combined price drop from $40 to $11. Prior to that every step still showed $40.

Glad that got somewhat cleared up. Hopefully they work out all the kinks soon. The movie fan in my was really bummed for a while.

Just for comparison now that we can see the correct shipping price, 2 BDs were 5.55 to ship to Canada. Now it'll cost 8.95. That is more like the small increase I was expecting.
