I have Christine on DVD and I never get the urge to watch it. Carpenter Blu-rays are tempting, but I think I'll just get The Fury.

Default For the soundtrack buffs among us...

...just an update to the Twilight Time Score/IST list I compiled last year* (Blu-ray plus DVD) broken down by Composer, and grouped according to their level of representation in the TT collection:

4
Alex North - Bite the Bullet, Désirée, The Sound and the Fury, Pony Soldier

2
Georges Delerue - Rapture, Steel Magnolias
Maurice Jarre - Enemy Mine, The Only Game in Town
Henry Mancini - High Time, Experiment in Terror

1

Ron Goodwin - Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines
Leigh Harline - The Wayward Bus
Alan Howarth - Christine (co-scored with John Carpenter)
Lorenz Hart - Pal Joey
Jerome Kern - Cover Girl (co-scored with Ira Gershwin - IST N/A)
Paul McCullough - Night of the Living Dead (1990)
Arthur Morton - The Big Heat
Basil Poledouris - The Blue Lagoon
Richard Rogers - Pal Joey
Howard Shore - Philadelphia
Michael Small - The Driver
Charles Strouse - Bye-Bye Birdie
Henry Vars - The Big Heat
John Williams - The Fury
Victor Young - The Left Hand of God [DVD]
Hans Zimmer - As Good As It Gets

2 TT 'superhero' composers have now emerged (Alex North and Jerry Goldsmith respectively) with 4 - 5 scores in the collection, plus 7 'hero' composers with 2 - 3 (Friedhofer, Herrmann, Newman, Waxman, Delerue, Jarre, and Mancini).

MIAs to date: still no Lalo Schifrin, Pino Donaggio, John Barry, Danny Elfman, Randy Edelman, Russel Garcia, Ennio Morricone, Vangelis, Michael Nyman, Cliff Martinez, Eric Serra, Mark Isham, Mychael Danna, Patrick Doyle, Les Baxter, Michel LeGrand, Laurie Johnson, Paul Sawtell, Leonard Rosenman, James Horner, Erich Korngold, or Miklos Rozsa (these were off the top; I'm sure I've forgotten many other respected screen score vets).

* Through June 2013 and current range of announcements, listed in alphabetical order. DVD only titles shown in [brackets].

Admittedly, my own list was just off-the-top jah13, so it was by no means meant to be considered complete. I also left off a lot of modern composers, such as Clint Mansell, because they are less likely to have scored a pre-90s catalogue title.

BTW, Brad Fiedel does have one TT IST (Fright Night), as does Richard Rodney Bennett (Nicholas and Alexandra).

To update you post put IST with Christine because yes TT has the Isolated Score for the Christine BD but Varese Sarabande Records still makes the complete Christine Score soundtrack itself.

Sure, but I'm not tracking CDs via this list kngtmat, only composers with scores/ISTs in TT's Blu-ray and DVD collection. Many (if not most) of these titles have independent soundtrack releases via other cottage CD labels.

Do any fellow Canadians know if they use USPS for "Express" shipments? I know for basic & registered they use USPS, but they seem to have removed the basic "registered" option since my last purchase. And that leaves Express as the only option with tracking/insurance. Thanks.

Funny because when everyone I know talk about a movies score they mean the movies complete instrumental soundtrack found on Records tapes and cd's not the whole soundtrack playing along with the movies video.

Also with Christine it would be called an isolated music & effects track just like on the Short Circuit se dvd. Not an isolated score since a film score is instrumental music made exactly for a film not made of songs with lyrics like Bad To The bone and Not Fade Away made a year or more prior to the movies existence unless TT takes them out.

You obviously have little previous familiarity with Twilight Time IST work kngtmat. Except in those circumstances where the original music-only tracks were lost or had deteriorated beyond practical use (e.g. only the mixdowns remain for some sequences in Mysterious Island), TT's ISTs have been the original studio recordings minus foley sound effects...in other words the truest possible replication of the source score. Not only are they typically wider dynamic range than the final mixdown, but you will sometimes even hear the conductor's lead-in/lead-out chatter or floor instructions to the orchestra (e.g. Mancini on High Time).

TT's Nick Redman is foremost a film score restorer and archivist - that's exactly what he did at Fox for nearly 20 years leading up to the launch of the Twilight Time video label. So wherever possible these are true ISTs of the movie's music score, not combined music and effects mixdowns. I don't know what original audio elements they had to work from with Christine, but most of their other ISTs have been very high-fidelity reproductions, losslessly preserved.

The isolated scores are easily the best bonus features on Twilight Time's discs.

You're wise to be wary - I don't rate The Fury at all. I would advise watching a non-hd version first...

Fright Night, Christine & The Driver - the only TT titles that I wanted/want as of yet. 3 classics.

Edit: And I also would like to own the Blob remake - didn't know that was forthcoming.
