It's because it isn't just a cult classic, it's a cult classic JOHN CARPENTER film.
Surely, there are thousands upon thousands more Carpenter fans who'll want the film simply because it's one of his films, more so than somebody who just happens to like the movie because it's something kinda cool they remember from the 80's.

I finally got my order in. I had to change my credit card info (should have thought of that yesterday) and it took forever. I can't wait to get The Fury. I got caught up and ordered Christine too. I may keep it or I may just use it to trade for something else.

Looks like TT made their money back and this one made the record books. Wouldn't surprise me if this one sold out before the end of the night at the rate it's currently going.
