![]() Criterion editions of Ghost World, The Long Goodbye and Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia are nothing but wishful thinking at this point. So, Twilight releases are likely. Criterion have yet to get around to releasing MGM titles that you mentioned previously (+ two Fellini's and How I Won the War). It's hard to tell and predict "who gets what" in this bussiness. For all we know, maybe even Shout is in the mix for some of the aforementioned titles. Last edited by Akijama; 06-21-2013 at 04:25 PM. |

No one knows exactly what titles Criterion has left on their MGM deal. The most recent MGM release from them is Qatsi Trilogy, though I'm pretty sure the upcoming La Cage aux Folles is licensed from MGM.
Here's the current rundown from MGM-licensed Criterions: RELEASED Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom House of Games (DVD only) The Fugitive Kind (DVD only) Paths of Glory The Night of the Hunter Sweet Smell of Success Kes Blow Out Something Wild Kiss Me Deadly The Killing Cul-de-Sac 12 Angry Men Sunday Bloody Sunday Trilogy of Life (The Decameron, The Canterbury Tales, Arabian Nights) Heaven's Gate The Qatsi Trilogy (Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi) (Naqoyqatsi licensed from Miramax via Lionsgate) ANNOUNCED La Cage aux Folles OFFICIALLY HINTED AT THROUGH NEWSLETTER Scanners STRONGLY RUMORED The Brood Burn! Europa Europa The French Lieutenant's Woman The Long Goodbye King of Hearts My Beautiful Laundrette Red River Roma Satyricon Thief I'm not as familiar with what they have on their Hulu channel, so there may be more officially confirmed via streaming availability. |

Whether it's coming from Criterion or Twilight Time, the fact is, THIEF will cost me at least $30 to acquire. Thankfully, I happen to think it's a great film and deserves the best treatment so I won't complain about the price. MINDWARP, on the other hand...
I hope these rumors turn out to be true ![]() |

I noticed they have confirmed Ray Harryhausens First Men In the Moon for a Blu Ray release in 2015 - there is something to look forward to
![]() As for MGM/UA Id love The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes or any genre title that Scream Factory said "we don't have it" ![]() |

Neither Fate Is The Hunter nor The Flim-Flam Man were among TT's promotional DVD offerings Blu-Titan. TT didn't need to offer them that way because these were always strong sellers and did just fine despite being SD-only titles.

The Big Heat sold out already?!?! Ouch. I thought I could wait a week after their announcement of 500 copies to make my purchase, since I had been a little too trigger-happy with a recent Criterion sale. Luckily, my intent was to buy a spare copy to maybe give as a gift, since I already had bought a copy for myself last October (my first TT purchase, actually). There goes that idea.

Yes, indeed! Even though it's a bit of a bummer to know there's still a 2-year wait, at least it's great to know that it's in the pipeline for a future release!! As for the Harryhausen/Columbia titles, that just leaves 3 WORLDS OF GULLIVER and the two SINBAD films. Fingers crossed! |

Holy crap, I was not expecting The Big Heat to sell out that fast after the announcement. I've had my copy for quite a while now, but I know that if I see a title go under 500 that I don't have, I better pounce...

Our Man Flint is at 537. Major Dundee is at 660. Leave Her to Heaven is at 743, which is not the lowest out of the remaining titles, but it's worth mentioning since this one just came out and has been moving at a fast clip since its release. Also, I should add that Bye Bye Birdie is at 259, but that one's been under 500 for months without any special announcement from SAE, so SAE must not have started with the full 3000 initially. The counts for the other three are much more likely to be accurate. |

They also confirmed another Harryhausen film "on the near horizon." I hope it's either The Golden Voyage of Sinbad or One Million Years B.C.

Twilight Time typically set a pre-order date a month or so before the release date. Since Body Double isn't slated for release until August 13th, they won't begin pre-orders until sometime next month. TT titles are exclusive to Screen Archives' website, so that's where you'll need to go to pre-order.

Publishing the number of remaining copies of TT titles is a double-edged sword. One one hand, it lets people know that something is running low and they should place an order before it's too late. On the other, it gives scalpers the fuel they need to ramp up their plans to snatch up multiple copies to resell for profit. That's what I suspect happened to THE BIG HEAT. It was the first TT release I missed the boat on - was waiting for THE DRIVER preorder to come up to order a copy. Oh well.
