Id love to rent that movie first if I could.
Okay, I guess we're on the same page then. I actually find Mindwarp to be a refreshing change of pace for TT. I'm just sayin', I'd like to see more obscure (and somewhat obscure) titles from the '80s and '90s, specifically sci-fi, horror, action, and comedy.

So would I, but the question is , would they sell ? Its cool to release them but can the studios survive releasing obscurities..look at Code Red
That's why some obscure films stay in obscurity
I for one have been hoping to see some classic obscure scifi films - Hand of Death, Mutiny In Outer Space and SpaceMaster X-7 - get released but they dont appear to be coming from any studio because they fear there is no profit in releasing them. Ive been waiting forever for Without Warning , Scream Factory will most likely get this one out at some point and I also like some of those Edgar Bryan Wallace mystery movies which Retromedia released. I asked Fred Olen Ray about releasing more and he said they didnt sell well...but we are getting another one - The Blancheville Monster

TT - Please release THE EARTHLING (1980). I don't have enough tear-jerkers in my collection

When I was a kid in the early 1980s, I used to watch The Earthling every single time it aired on HBO. It's such a phenomenal film that has slipped between the cracks.

The Earthling was never released on DVD, but I have an "unofficial" DVD-R based off a VHS transfer. Terrible, but it's all that's available now.

At least they picked some winners in the Sinbad films...I bet they will strike silver , well maybe gold but not right away
I have no problem at all ordering a movie I've never heard of (i.e. Rapture, Experiment in Terror). However it's usually a good idea to wait and see that at least a few people actually like it - or even heartily recommend them. Which is exactly what happened with those two films, some people were swearing by them... so I made the splurge (and make no mistake, buying a Twilight Time title is a splurge compared to virtually any other blu-ray you can buy). I do this with dozens and dozens of titles from Criterion, Twilight Time, Olive, etc and have rarely been disappointed.

With something like Wayward Bus I made the mistake of not really paying attention to feedback, and instead going with my own intuition based on the description of the film. I found that one to be midding at best (if not downright terrible).

Roughly 2500 copies each, by the looks of it.

I went for The Other immediately when pre-orders went live. Excellent, extremely unsettling flick.

With that, it'll make five TT titles owned -- the others being Philadelphia (my first), Hard Times, The Driver, and Sexy Beast.

Oh, and Oliver! is a must-buy, too.

They also have some stock @ TMCshop. The October releases will not sellout for long time if ever. That is actually a good think for Mindwarp as it clearly does not belong in this business model.

Wait are you saying TT didn't get into business to release straight to video horror? I don't believe that sir!

I just ordered Leave Her to Heaven from the Screen Archives Entertainment site. I was not sure if there were any copies left, but I apparently squeaked in, since they took my order.

I admit that I have never seen the film before, but I researched some reviews and decided that this will fit my tastes. To give an idea of where my Twilight Time affinities lie, I already own and love The Big Heat, Experiment in Terror, The Driver, Rapture, and Drums Along the Mohawk.

I'm looking forward to this one! The general consensus around here seems to be that it's a good Blu-ray presentation considering the source material that they had to work with.

People better laced their boots for the upcoming release of the Sinbad movies....those will go very fast. Mindwarp will not sellout at the $35 (with shipping) premium.
Mindwarp will be one of those titles where someone is planning on ordering a different TT title from Screen Archives, investigates Mindwarp, and for whatever reason says, ahhhh why not and orders it.

It's a wonderful looking film on blu. The skin tones look a bit off at times but the scenery is amazing, particularly the mountains in the early scenes that take place in the Southwest.

I found the movie itself to be an odd duck, to me it came across as a full-on, straightforward 1940s melodrama in which one of the characters happens to be a nutjob! By that I mean, the tone and style, to me, don't scream "thriller" like you might expect with other films like this of the era. Being in color instead of shadowy black and white helps mask things. I can imagine many audience members back in the day going to see this, not knowing what to expect, sitting down to watch and becoming engrossed by a nice romantic drama then starting to get a little unnerved by her gradual change in behaviour.

This makes me think of one of my Criterion titles, Nicholas Ray's Bigger Than Life. The vibrant colors of that film initially led me to expect something other than the dark curveball thrown by the storyline. I like this contrast of effects, though. This is a good sign that I'll enjoy Leave Her to Heaven.

How do people know how many of the Twilight Time blu-rays have been sold? Is this reported somewhere? Or are some people just guessing? Hard to tell from the thread.

I had never heard of MINDWARP before, and I don't plan to buy it. This is one time where the lack of extras makes a difference because I might consider purchasing it if the extras were at all interesting.

Nobody knows for sure...Most of the stock is at SAE so people place, lets say 3,000 units in the cart, and refresh to get an idea how many are unavailable for sale...works good on pre-orders most of the time. For already released titles, there's no telling until the unit count declines to 500 or less, then the cart game becomes reliable again.

I can't see 'em selling out in a day or two. Although, it would be nice if they imposed a '3 copy limit' right off the bat.

I just got the email that Leave Her to Heaven has shipped.

Since I usually get shipping notices earlier than this, I was briefly concerned about whether or not I had ordered too late and was about to get the out-of-stock rejection slip. Fortunately, that's not the case.

I have no idea how many copies of Leave Her to Home are left, but I have a feeling that I just made it under the wire.

Nah, TT/SAE send out an email when their titles dip below 500 copies. Leave Her to Heaven hasn't hit that mark yet.
