Do they send out an email when something ships? I ordered Mindwarp and was curious if those have started shipping yet.

Yes, SAE sends out emails once and item has shipped. However, those emails can be a bit delayed and some users have reported not receiving the emails. You can also log in to your SAE account to check the order status to see if the order has been shipped.

No, I believe they have switched to a Wednesday date for the preorders, so it should be either the 16th or the 23rd (probably the 16th).

I'm also waiting for an email for Mindwarp. I thought I read that there was a slight delay - can anyone confirm if this is true?

Wow, I didn't realize The Other and Mindwarp were shipping. Guess I lost track of time.

I pre-ordered both films as soon as they were available and haven't received so much as a shipping notice yet.

Their Facebook page said shipping for Mindwarp will be either this Thursday or Friday.

I was ready to place my order but can't decide on picking up Experiment in Terror. Is it a good blind buy?

Thanks,
Tom

I blind bought EXPERIMENT IN TERROR. I definitely don't regret it. 8/10 if I had to bestow a quickie rating.

I concur with the eveyone else. It's one of my favorites from TT. The transfer looks really good in b&w especially Lee Remick

The score from the late great Henry Mancini is terrific too

If it weren't for Sony and Fox making the offers of what I consider important catalog titles like Leave Her to Heaven, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Mysterious Island, etc., Twilight Time wouldn't be able to accept the offer for them.

I don't blame TT for accepting an offer. I'd assume they think "The studio seriously doesn't want to release this? We'll take it!". That's in the interest of getting it out to people, even if it is a far too limited audience (in my opinion) of 3,000.

The only criticism I have against Twilight Time is the severely limited quantity. When it comes to classics, I think they should be see by the largest possible audience in order to keep their legacy alive. The limited quantity makes this difficult.

Do you think we'd even be having this debate if it weren't for the limited quantities?

Experiment in Terror is outstanding. If you're a fan of the first Dirty Harry movie, then you will recognize all of the ways that Experiment in Terror influenced that film.

Lee Remick (Anatomy of a Murder) is lovely. Glenn Ford (The Big Heat, 3:10 to Yuma) is outstanding as always.

The Great Owl recommends.

The last two TT titles have yet to be reviewed. Also notice on Facebook TT stated that anyone waiting for blu-ray.com review for The Other will be waiting a long time while promoting other website reviews. Is blu-ray.com no longer recieving screeners for there titles?

To those who have posted here and sent me so many emails and PMs, here's what's going on in a nutshell: yes, Twilight Time has stopped sending screeners. Mr. Redman has had issues with the fact that (in his perception) so many people here (including some Mr. Redman felt were posting as "official" representatives of the site) post negative comments about his label.

I find this particularly disheartening for several reasons, including the fact that I was among the first champions of the label, being one of the first journalists to interview Mr. Redman about the label and then covering each and every release (giving so many positive reviews that some of you here accused me of being a label shill ), and in fact every time Mr. Redman has brought something particularly objectionable to my attention (and there have been some posts here I personally feel have crossed the line), I've attempted to deal with it as quickly as possible.

This all of course ignores the fact that we live in a free society where dissenting opinion is constitutionally protected (even about Blu-ray releases LOL), and it also ignores the fact that the vast majority of posts here are "pro-Twilight Time", which I think ultimately is the real disservice that has been done to our readership. Unlike other sites that censor negative posts, we have a more liberal policy, though I will state up front we have a very active and professional moderation team that keeps things within the bounds of propriety. (The fact that I and the readership are being "punished" for other people's opinions is a bit strange, but I digress.)

The good news here is that I will be picking up occasional Twilight Time releases myself and posting reviews as I have the time. I truly appreciate all the inquiries I've had from those who prefer the Blu-ray.com reviews of this material. It means a lot to receive such generously positive feedback.

The only bad review I can recall written by someone fromt the blu-ray.com staff was the one for Night of the Living Dead.

And I can't take the reviews from HTF seriously since from reading many of the reviews, postings, etc. it seems like what little activity the site has is filled to the brim with corporate shills and sycophants.

Kind of blows because I was considering getting Drums Along the Mohawk, but was waiting for a Blu-ray.com review with screen caps. I guess I can save the 29.99, plus whatever else I may have spent.

For what it's worth, I think that the Twilight Time Blu-ray of Drums Along the Mohawk is a beautiful presentation, but I cannot give it the in-depth technical review that it deserves, given the limitations of my setup. Just the cursory "This Blu-ray looks great and sounds great to me." broad brush stroke, and that does not quite fly on this site.
