Two Woody Allen films (though only one as director) and Cimino's THUNDERBOLT AND LIGHTFOOT. I'm in! I'd like to see another Martin Ritt film called THE OUTRAGE on TT; it's an American remake of Kurosawa's RASHOMON. I reviewed it a few weeks ago on my blog.

Crimes and Misdemeanors and Thunderbolt and Lightfoot are the first must-haves on the Twilight Time label for me. Pretty excited!

Twilight Time has become like gasoline to me....hate paying $3.50 a gallon but I do it anyway. Although I do believe TT's business model creates an artificial "must-have" pull to collectors like me instead of simply letting the market set the price. There's no doubt that that IF these titles were released by their respective studios (and I know that's a whole separate topic), I'd be able to get them on Amazon for less than $19 which is why I grumble as I place my order with Screen Archives. At least with Criterion I usually get a higher degree of quality and extras for the premium price.

With all that said, The Blue Max and Thunderbolt and Lightfoot will be pre-ordered as soon as they're available.

Just a reminder to everyone, that "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot" is being released in UK too, and probably in half the price.

If, of course, being the most important word in that sentence.

I'm assuming that Man in the Dark will have a 2D option on the Blu-ray as well. If so, then I'm going to hit it.

Thanks for posting, I've been eager to hear their next slate of releases. Several films I love here (Thunderbolt, Crimes, Front), but none are feeling like essential purchases for some reason. If they keep up this release pace in 2014, however, I'm sure there will be many that do.

Interested in KHARTOUM....I guess I'll have to wait for this site's review if one occurs.

Yeah, and we'd be better off that way since it would be the same transfers being used, and we could get the movies for $5 instead of $30... making the purchase hurt less when a transfer ends up being sub-par.

This was a list of titles of no interest and never heard of to me. Man in the Dark sounds interesting but Im not blind buying a 70 minute film for 30.00

At least many of these titles are what you'd consider Twilight Time titles (a number of pre-70's titles this time). No Tom Hanks 90's rom coms this time.

Wow, glad to see lots of people not interested in the Jan/Feb titles because there are several that I would like, so that diminishes my sell-out anxieties.

Back to the on-going issue of review copies. One reviewer from this site has provided a reason for them not sending copies, TT has denied that is the reason. To me, it's just hearsay as I don't know the facts. For whatever reason, TT is apparently not providing review copies anymore and that is sad because the reviews have always been fair to them, their business model and the product they have been releasing. The forums? Maybe not so much. I also have learned about TT through this website and have, in the past, posted here in the forums some of the issues I have with them in the manner of offering constructive criticism. I am not going to get up in arms over this because whether a review is good or bad, I will buy it anyway based on my desire to own a film not because a reviewer shoehorns a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED at the end of his review.

Christ on a stick, I'm gonna have to buy from Twilight Time, aren't I? Goddamnit MGM, you couldn't hold onto Crimes and Misdemeanors?

I had been assuming we'd get Crimes and Misdemeanors from MGM for (eventually) $6.99 or so, but I don't think I'd pay $30 for the upgrade, as great a film as it is. I'm just not an Allen fanatic, even though I own and enjoy many of his movies. I'm all for more classic-era films in 3D, though I wasn't familiar with Man in the Dark. Audrey Totter (one of my favorite Bad Gals) should be quite delectable in three dimensions. No real interest in any of the others, but bodes well (except for my wallet) that they are now moving to such a packed schedule.

I was hoping for more 70s titles along the lines of THE DRIVER, HARD TIMES, and THE DISAPPEARANCE... but they'll likely have titles hitting these kind of notes in future months, and my wallet is grateful for the reprieve.

I personally prefer the 70's titles, but I know there seem to be some on here that are upset that TT wasn't sticking to their perceived initial mission (pre-70's stuff), so this should make them....happy.

Which of course should be your first clue as to what's going on here. As I alluded to in my second post yesterday, I have retained all emails ever sent by anyone from Twilight Time (all three principals) and if push comes to shove, I'll print them. There's absolutely no reason for me or anyone at Blu-ray.com to lie or "spin" this. There's every reason for Twilight Time to attempt to. Our posting about this situation yesterday was in direct response to *numerous* member inquiries as to why our reviews hadn't gone live yet. Had we not received so much reader questioning, I would have let sleeping dogs lie as I am the father of two teenagers and already have enough drama in my life.
