I honestly don't think anything needs to be done besides stop promoting TT anymore on the site if he and his crew are going to behave like this. why continue to promote and give special treatment to a company that is obviously dissatisfied with the site.
So people here are gonna take their ball and go home? Or this website is going to take its ball and go home? It's okay for every one else to be childish, but not Redman? If everyone else boycotts Twilight Time except for me, then I will not have to worry about Thunderbolt and Lightfoot or Man in the Dark selling out. Good times!

So, become vengeance. Become wrath. Express your indignation so that I can have an easy pre-order process.

lol.

About the recent news of no screeners for this site, I've never used any reviews to determine my BR purchases from TT so the lack of a timely review won't stop me from buying the releases that I want. I couldn't care less about the "indignation" that some of the forum members feel here feel about Mr. Redman's decision.

Those will take a while to sell out.

Well I for one like to read the reviews, especially when it's a movie I'm not familiar with, it's a shame they won't be sending out review copies.

Would love to see TRAPEZE (1956) on blu-ray. Great Carol Reed pix with Burt Lancaster, Tony Curtis, Gina Lollobrigida. Plus it's in color and scope.
Anyone know the studio that put it out in 1956?

Totally agree. I continue to look forward to their releases and hope this means slower sell-outs. I will buy more than I used to, actually, due to having more money now, and because I want to support the company.

TT is the only distibutor that I will not blind buy from given the price. The only movies that have either sold out or have the potential of selling out before or around the release date (hence, timely reviews) are movies that I already love and won't hesitate to buy from TT.

TT's releases that I am unfamiliar with won't sell out before I've had a chance to watch the movie and determine if I want to buy the release.

I guess that is understandable considering the price - with that said every TT purchase I have made has been pre-order without the benefit of a review. I'll be honest I did not think TT sent out discs for prescreening. As others have pointed out the reviews seem to hit at roughly the same time I pull the film out of my mailbox. While the whole saga of TT and the polarizing opinions it pulls from people can be disheartening, it will not stop me from future purchases of films I want to own.

What's the early buzz on the Sinbad movies. Are they expected to sell out quickly? Like "Christine" in 7 hours or sooner?

I doubt 7 hours but apparently those films have a large fan base. They are probably right too considering Mysterious Island is sold out.

Mysterious Island took a surprisingly long time to eventually sell out - about 3 - 4 months I think.

I'm not a big fan of TT's business model or pricing, but whatever works for them and the consumer base is willing to support... more power to 'em. I will say I greatly appreciate the fact they include isolated soundtrack scores on most if not all their releases.

Regarding their screener/review policy... it's a petty stance but as it's been mentioned before, reviews for their titles usually come out close to ship dates anyway so most buyers have already committed to buying a title. If it's a mediocre release such as the badly advised color timed corrected "Night Of The Living Dead" remake, one can easily recoup or more likely make some money by reselling it on eBay.

Fortunately, aside from a few genre films like the Harryhausen and DePalma flicks, I have little interest in what they put out. I will say the steep pricing kept me from buying a few titles I have marginal interest in, such as "Journey To The Center Of The Earth." In that case, I stuck with my older dvd and as the soundtrack score by Bernard Herrmann is really the major interest point for me, I long ago picked up the soundtrack cd. Had the title been priced under $20, I probably would have bought it. I'm kind of glad they haven't licensed any Hammer or Toho film titles as those would put a big dent in my blind buy budget.

Well, the original nitrate is gone (along with the rest of Fox's nitrate negs), so the remaining safety element must not be of great quality. However, the DVD actually looks fine, and I'm presuming the same source element will be used for the Blu. If anything, that's probably why this film went to Twilight Time, because I was certain that Fox would release this themselves at some point. The trend I've observed over the past few years is that Fox seems to be handing off titles with element issues to Twilight Time (Demetrius and the Gladiators, Journey to the Center of the Earth, The Song of Bernadette, Leave Her to Heaven, Drums Along the Mohawk).
