I wonder if the upcoming "Zulu" release is going to have an isolated music track. I'd LOVE to have that as part of that disc.

An all time favourite movie, I can still remember the first time I saw it at the cinema in 1963. I was a huge Harryhausen fan. I think Jason was the pinnacle, The First Men In The Moon wasn't as good, & it carried on slowly down hill. I have the two Harryhausen films I want on Blu, Mysterious Island & Jason & The Argonauts. I'm not interested in the Sinbads, I think it was all looking a bit threadbare by then.

The original Harryhausen Sinbad (The 7th Voyage of...) I think is a solid film that's almost up to the level of Jason. The later two...not so much. The only reason I can think of to get either of the later two would be for Munro and/or Seymour, and I'm not obsessed enough about either to do that.

The 70s Sinbads are fun but they don't have a the aura of quality and prestige that 7th Voyage & Jason have.

I never would have guessed how much you like that movie. Well, there's the picture of Talos. Hercules just couldn't keep his hands off the treasure, could he?

Well, I'm not alone. I've always loved Tom Hanks' remark after Ray Harryhausen was presented with the Gordon E. Sawyer Award for Technical Achievement at the Academy Awards ceremony in 1992. He said, "Some say Citizen Kane is the greatest motion picture of all time. Others say it's Casablanca. For me, the greatest picture of all time is Jason and the Argonauts."

My copy of Oliver was shipped Nov 6th via UPS...apparently UPS passed it off to USPS to get delivered. Here it is the 18th, and I still don't have the disc. Very annoying for as much as you pay for these disc

That's a little unusual. The UPS part of the trip is essentially like Ground--depending on where you are, it's an up to five-day process. But once tendered to USPS it should be delivered within a day (although I am experiencing delays recently right at this handoff stage). If tracking shows that the item has been "tendered to USPS" as of several days ago, I'd call your local p.o. with that number and inquire about tracing the shipment.

I know and it sucks. They used to charge 4.30 and you would get first class shipping and it would reach me in 2 days, often times overnight. Now it takes 5 days and still costs the same. Im sure this is a cost saving measure and if it is then cut your shipping down a bit. I ship blu-rays first class all the time, it costs 1.86

Yeah, I read the first part of your comments here when you posted same about four days ago. An issue Ed mentioned more than once when I spoke with him on the phone that motivated the switch from straight USPS to UPS Mail Innovations was that the latter makes fewer interim stops on its way to the customer. (My response was/is that, in my experience selling media, those sometimes greater number of stops still are taking place in the same and sometimes even a shorter period(s) of time.)

It will be interesting to see how the reconciliation of shipper's "versus" customers' needs/priorities pans out with constructive feedback to SAE during this trial run.

That just proves no research was done. Everyone here can tell you that the shipping takes days longer with UPS Innovations versus standard postal service. Just common sense tells you that an extra step takes longer. I experienced an extra 3 days compared to older shipping times. Anyone who orders from Deep Discount or Importcds will say the same thing. I want to know how much cheaper this method is. That is the real reason they changed shipping methods.

It's not necessarily the case that "no" research was done. I'd surmise it's closer to the mark that their research looked largely at their business calculus moreso than the end customer service calculus. I mentioned this to him (and, ironically, Import CDs) and he got the message. This is why I've said (twice before) that polite, constructive feedback directly to SAE/Ed could be important in their (re-)evaluation of their choice in, say, six months.

Same here, everything First Class would arrive in 2 days from SAE (my larger order shipped Priority Mail and also arrived in 2 days). UPS Mail Innovations is much much slower.

Like you said, First Class with delivery confirmation costs only $1.86 for a 4 ounce package. I can only imagine it must be cheaper to use UPS-MI? But really, how much cheaper? 10 cents less? I'd pick straight USPS any day of the week.

Any idea how is SAE handling expedited shipping? I hope they aren't considering UPS ground expedited

You could find out about them on this thread, on their Facebook page, email updates from screenarchives.com, etc. - their wikipedia page even has a listing that someone keeps updated. As far as I am aware, however, Rollerball has not been announced by them as a forthcoming release at this point in time.

I received my Twilight Time copy in the mail yesterday and I tried it out last night. The video is considerably improved from the old DVD, but oddly enough, I think the sound is a bit clearer on the DVD. I can especially hear it on each "s" sound. To anyone else who has received their copy, have you noticed this?
