Well the last update on the UPS site from Monday says "Electronic Shipment Information Received for Package by Post Office" and lists the local USPS hub which is ten minutes away from where I live.

Don't worry about it. That ain't remotely cold my friend. It's -30C here right now. That's -22F. I've had plenty of discs getting cold soaked in the mailbox. When it's 15F, people in Winnipeg wear shorts. Your discs will be fine. Just let them reach room temp before removing the plastic wrap. If they are cold and you expose them to warm moist air, water will condense on the surface...which won't hurt but it looks scary ![]() |

I was thinking it might be something like this, too. I know I was among the first to order because I managed to snag that signed copy. So far, I've received no notification of any kind. Sit and wait, I guess. --Ben |

![]() ![]() Richard Quine's 1958 film, Bell, Book and Candle, about a beautiful witch who falls for a mortal man in present-day Greenwich Village, will likely be forever remembered as the lesser of two films from that year starring James Stewart and Kim Novak, in light of their pairing in Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo. In all fairness, though, most films pale in comparison to that Hitchcock masterpiece. Book, Bell and Candle succeeds on its own terms as an offbeat romantic comedy, even if it never quite ascends to greatness. During my first viewing of this film last night, by way of this Twilight Time Blu-ray, I never had the impression that Novak and Stewart were phoning it in, because Novak's otherworldly sultriness is evident during every moment when she's onscreen, and Stewart's charisma as a leading man shines through although his role is secondary to Novak's dynamic character struggles. My favorite scenes in Bell, Book and Candle are those set in the Zodiac Club, an off-the-beaten path jazz dive where Jack Lemmon, the warlock brother of Novak's Gillian Holroyd, plays bongo drums to the trumpet tunes of the Candoli Brothers. I have always enjoyed movies that deal with subculture societies in large cities, and the idea of a jazz club frequented by witches comes across like a lighthearted ancestor story element years before Roman Polanski's terrifying vision of big city occultism in Rosemary's Baby. I agree with the assessment of the official site review that this film never really gets up off the ground or presents any real element of tension. As is, though, Bell, Book and Candle is an interesting twist on Christmas movies that benefits from some beautiful visuals from cinematographer James Wong Howe. If you're looking for a different sort of rom-com for your collection, then you could do worse. Bell, Book and Candle looks and sounds great on this Twilight Time disc. The video presentation brings out the best in the film's colorful appeal, and the audio quality does justice to the interesting use of music and sound effects. A couple of short supplements related to Kim Novak's career are welcome additions, as is the informative essay booklet. Last edited by The Great Owl; 12-11-2013 at 04:12 PM. |

I was just going to ask if the people still waiting on their orders, also got the signed Mindwarp. I got the signed copy and I am still waiting. I also know somebody else that placed an order with the signed copy. They are still waiting, as well.

I'm a little confused about something. I've done numerous forum searches here and looked in the threads for the individual releases, but I can't seem to figure out why the TCM shop is showing both Body Double and The Fury as "in stock" when I assumed they were sold out. I've progressed all the way through the checkout just short of confirming my purchase and everything looks like it's in stock. What am I missing?

No it isn't. I did not go for The Mindwarp offer. For the fifth straight month, release day has come and gone and my order still says pending.
