Still relevant; TT has small production runs just like bands, though they may not give out as many "comps". Besides, the recommended 1,000 overrun seems to come from the manufacturers themselves, who are for the most part the same for BD as for DVD & CD.

BD cost is much higher for DVD cd as well. Plus with all the TT hate here one type of post I've never read is the "my blu ray didn't work." So yeah, despite your anecdote they're not pressing 4000 per title. No way. Even 3410 seems hi as well. |

Well, since everyone is sniping and nitpicking, I'll say that I've seen a few faulty TT disc posts.

I really don't think TT is pressing 1000 extras. When I finally got around to watching my Night of the Living Dead disc a few months back, it wouldn't play at all, not even to bring up the menu. I contacted SAE and all they could do was give me a refund as Ed said they had no more discs.

Twilight Time is almost certainly pressing 3500 units at a minimum. Anyone that knows anything about BD manufacturing knows 3100 units would not make business sense.
![]() Their contract with the licensing studio likely has a definite limit of copies that could be pressed. |

You're no doubt correct that they have contractual limits as to the production run which includes a contingency, typically 10%. The note that someone couldn't get a replacement NOTLD means that contingency is low, and I'm not buying the 4000 total number (if so, they would have certainly run an autograph promo for that title by this point). In any event, you can bet that contract also states they cannot sell more than 3000, which means they're going to want to have a lo contingency % since it's money right out of their pockets at that point. Evidence points to a # much closer to 3000 than 4000. It's simple math. |
