I ordered it an I have neither a 3D player nor a 3D TV.

But I figure that I will have a 3D set up SOME day. And, since I'm a fan of 1950's movies, I decided I better buy this one now.

I wonder what happens when a title gets below 50 then does the cart trick work?

Perhaps we'll know soon enough. I'd imagine that Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger is getting close.

Well, when you do, it's pivotal that you get House of Wax 3D. Wonderful.

This is the perfect example of a film that might have never seen the light of day on Blu if not for Twilight Time. I ordered this and frankly hope that it sells really well so that TT might consider releasing other classic 3-D movies like Inferno, Gun Fury and others.

The best test case may be Fright Night at the end of this year: it was released December 2011 and was a quick sell-out (just a couple months after pre-order became available). I can see them being willing to do another run of 3000 for this one.
If they did another limited run of Fright Night, Christine etc then that would go a long way to alleviating my main frustration with this business model. In a sense it would be kind of like the Disney Vault then. I would hope that they cover and disc would look a little different so that you could tell a first edition from a second edition and so on. I suspect that Fright Night and Christine would sell out pretty quickly again.

This will be very interesting to see if TT is able to get the rights to Fright Night again or if the studios are watching this and do their own release of movies that sell out quickly on TT.

If you had the autographed Royal Flash in the order, they just got in the copies yesterday was what I was told when I called yesterday, so they should start shipping today.

Maybe stamp "2ND PRESSING" in big 1-inch bold-type on both the cover and the disc.

That'd be terrible. Might as well put a gold embossed 'Not For Resale' stamp on it.

I was surprised to see this response from TT to a Facebook question about whether the RITA, SUE AND BOB TOO blu-ray will have much in the way of bonus features:

"the disc won't have much (if anything) in the way of extras, as Protagonist / Film4 appear not to have materials...however all of our upcoming releases from this UK entity will have a slightly lower price-point of $24.95 for single films and $29.95 for 'double-bills.'"

If it's already been discussed, I somehow missed that these titles will have a lower price point.

That would be fair to those who purchased it in the first place and to those who went out of their way to obtain it after it went OOP. Those who are still waiting for whatever reason to get it would have a physical copy and be able to watch it like everyone else.

Those going in probably already know the details (exclusivity window and limited status). It'd be ridiculous to slap something on a reissue to make it inferior. Removing the little 'Limited Edition Series' text at the bottom would be enough. No need to mark it up like it's a rental disc or promo copy. That wouldn't be fair to those buying the reissue.

How would it make it inferior or unfair? Are you buying it for the movie or the cover art?

How about just changing 'Limited Edition Series' to 'Second Edition Series'. An even smaller change visually, but a VERY specific - and informative - one. [Especially if they end up with a 'Third Edition Series' with any at any point.]
