I quit going to HTF because of the responses in TT threads to reasonable comments about TT and SAE such as these.

I know the weather sucks in Va, which is where they ship out from, but frankly, this is not good business and unfortunately has seemed to become the norm at TT lately. Just my 2 cents, but I know many others feel the same. It's too bad that their business cannot run properly, as it seemed to in years past. They seem to be more interested in posting and responding on Facebook then they do in taking care of their paying customers, but I guess they are not the only company doing this too. Hopefully these releases were worth the wait....
I feel your pain (just got my shipping notice today), but to be fair regarding the Facebook comment: since Screen Archives handles all of TT's transactions from sales to shipping, the time TT spends on FB in CA has nothing to do with whether or not an order ships from SA in VA. And aside from a few times when they've come across as smug or snippy, I appreciate their online level of engagement with fan suggestions, questions, etc.

Why that is a "please sign for the package sir" signature. lol. Thanks for posting the photo, I like seeing the signed Twilight blu's, see how all the actors/directors signed their respective discs.

Anyone else have any photos of signed TT titles in their collection?

Scott Fitzgerald’s affair with gossip columnist Sheila Graham into a glossy CinemaScope love story in the 20th Century Fox house style of the Fifties. Not that it’s going for pure soap, with undervalued and unfairly forgotten A-list director Henry King seemingly using A Star is Born for his template, with his screenwriting career failing because he can’t adapt his style to the screen while his books fall out of favour – he can’t even find a copy of his book to buy her. The comparisons are particularly pronounced in scenes where Gregory Peck’s down on his luck author drunkenly barges in on a rehearsal for a radio broadcast and just keeps on making things worse or when he drunkenly insults an admirer on a plane while Deborah Kerr’s would-be muse sits cringing in embarrassment. Elsewhere, it draws parallels with the author’s own work as he falls for a woman who, like Jay Gatsby, has reinvented her humble origins but can’t forget them.

For all his stolid reputation, Peck was always interested in challenging his screen image and even though he’s one of the least likely casting choices imaginable for Fitzgerald, he’s clearly relishing the opportunity to cut loose in the second half of the picture with the occasional homicidal drunken rage. Kerr’s more obviously in her usual comfort zone, worrying, trying to manage a deteriorating situation and suffering as required. King’s direction is polished and intelligent, pulling off a couple of nice moments such as their first meeting being played entirely by subtle eye contact or a nightmarish tableaux giving way to a suddenly empty room near the end of the film, though this being a 50s Fox film, the Love is a Man Splendored Thingish final scene where memories give way to a title song that really struggles to find rhymes with Infidel (the most awkward aspect of an excellent Franz Waxman score) is more likely to provoke smirks than tears. It’s not the enduring classic it clearly wants to be, but it’s still a much better melodrama than its detractors might claim.
Good summary of BELOVED INFIDEL. It's a film that seems to fall just a bit short of what it might be, but I certainly did not dislike it. Parts of it are quite impressive, but as a whole it's lacking. It should pair well as a second feature with THE GREAT GATSBY. The Blu-ray looks quite nice, and the stereo sound is decent, although there seems to be some high-frequency rolloff (aging magnetic masters?).

funny you should mention THE GREAT GATSBY I just ordered it from amazon yesterday when I saw it was on sale ..... I assume you are referring to the 74' film. Beloved Infidel sounds like something I would definitely want to see I may order it next week if I decide to buy enough TT Titles to get a free copy of The Driver Next week.

My copies of both Crimes & Misdemeanors, and The Front arrived safely yesterday - just 1 day after the release date. I feel bad for those who are having trouble with SAE's services, stay strong guys.

Yeah, these are the times that try men's souls.

Until this most recent batch of releases, I'd managed to make it through a couple of years without whining about SAE tardiness.

But I must confess, it's frustrating to see my pre-order still "Pending" (and I just checked again) with others already having received their discs. I hope it at least goes out before the weekend.

I'm pretty sure my blurays are in the back of USPS truck that slid off the road somewhere near Norfolk, Virginia.

No one has said anything about eco cases, so I guess that has been corrected. Kudos to TT for acting quickly.

And my order still hasn't shipped. Rats!

Am I the only one who's never had any problem with Screen Archives shipping my purchases? I've bought eight Twilight Time movies so far, and the worst I've experienced is one or two arriving in the mail a day or so after the release date. I've even gotten most of them well in advance, and the only "damage" has been some odd waxy stuff on the back of "Titus." I'm seeing folks complain about SA's service, and though I don't doubt that it's happened, I have nothing but good things to say about them so far (knock on wood).

Not at all... providing they actually ship the right item you've ordered.
As I had mentioned earlier, they sent me the CD score of The Golden Voyage of Sinbad, when I had in fact ordered the (now OOP) Blu-ray.
Did they care? Not in the slightest. Worst customer service ever!

I used to get my films early, now the last 3 months no such luck. While not bad, its usually at least 2 weeks after release date. CD orders take nearly 3-4 weeks by time a 2 week pending looms over my order. But its not likely for me to find the CDs in stores so what can I do. Shipping is expensive for the lengthy duration would be my only complaint. No damage has come of my orders though which is something I can't say about any other company.

wonder if they are even shipping anything with the snowstorm right now?
I mean maybe SAE needs to hire some more people.
this is getting ridiculous.

Wow, really they didn't fix the issue at all? If not did you reach out to TT and see what kind of response you could get from them?

When it comes to those kind of issue SAE was always good with me over the yrs with my CD orders.

Also when it comes to snow storms etc I can't be angry if they can't get stuff shipped out, my order is still pending but if the snow is the reason I have to be more patient even though I wanted my order for the weekend. I hate the fact Monday is a postal holiday! It will create a day delay arghhh lol

Yep. I'm still staring at a pending status myself. I'm rarely anxious for something to ship. I'm always of the "when it ships it ships" mindset. But I'm really looking forward to this lot of films. Had hoped for a Woody Allen double feature this weekend.
