yeah, they're a little sloppy. I ordered a few TT titles from them and they actually sent me the titles in under 3 days.. however my order STILL says it's back ordered and they never charged me!! not that I'm complaining but they're a bit disorganized

Going off topic (from TT) for a bit, there were several of us who ordered the TCM Vault Collection edition of The Lady from Shanghai who weren't too impressed by their operations. Not that anything went particularly wrong, but after the initial acknowledgement of the order, they didn't email when the disc shipped, and it just showed up one day.

On the other hand, it seems like several of us (I'm not one of them) hadn't gotten charged for the disc as of a week ago or thereabouts, even though they received the disc.

Quite frankly, as long as their are other venues, I'm not inclined to shop at TCM again.

I had the same problems as LucasM with TCM shop. Eventually just canceled my order for the other Sinbad and got it from SAE (TCM had had some deals with shipping and coupons that had originally made it cheaper).

Yeah, not TT related, but my order of The Lady from Shanghai is still listed as "processing" (or something like that). I checked out of curiosity and I have never been billed for this and I received the movie weeks ago. I am sure they will bill me at some point .

I assumed that the aforementioned SAE staff member he talked to must have been rude, and he doesn't want to do business with them.

I believe it was a timing issue, as he bought them for gifts and the order was left pending too long. When he tried to cancel by email they suddenly shipped them, so that's when he made the phone call.

Got my replacement case for Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger yesterday. Glad it all worked out in the end.

I've had no problem with TT products thru SAE, it was the music section. I ordered several CDs on feb 1st for a friend visiting from Austria, they leave on the 22nd. On the 19th, still no shipping, just pending. I sent an email saying to please cancel. I also called about the same time, no answer, just rang and rand til VM picked up and I left message to cancel order #. I no longer need the CDs as they won't be here to give to said friend and another gift has since been ordered and received. Only a few minutes after my call/email a "your stuff is shipped" email hits my inbox. Today, the tracking # is still useless as it has not been scanned by carrier (2/21). Feb 20th I called to ask to cancel order, and staff did not give name but said no, my problem. I asked when was I to expect package, and he had no idea, I was given 4 excuses for why it took so long (1 holiday, snow, busy, and they are behind) If I didn't like it, ship it back express. Lousy attitude, threatening me when I stated my problem a 2nd time and asked what he meant by return condition and why express return.

For this kind of service, I'd rather go out of my way to not deal with the prick.

On previous occasions, packages have come mashed in, no response from customer service, and double billed 2 times back before blu-rays were released (TT DVDs). But due to the nature of the product, I'm kinda stuck with limited sources for these films.

I used to be a regular customer at SAE for soundtracks for years until their website started playing up and crashing whenever limited editions were announced - something I was told nobody else ever had a problem with (ahem) and which, bizarrely, they implied I was making up when I contacted them about the problem (I particularly remember the phrase 'that won't wash' being used) before stating they were now too big to deal with these kind of problems with individual customers. Since then I only ever order from them as a last resort, especially since their international shipping is a mess, but on certain titles they know they've got you over a barrel.

Wording in customer service is key. Everyone knows that. The conversation was none too pleasant, but the parts that got me the most were:

Me: So, I can return this?
SAE: yea at your expense.
Me: How about I write return to sender?
SAE: It'll be refused, and being delivered, NO credit will be given. Ship it express and based on the condition, a refund will be given for the items but not shipping.

The tone and attitude that it was my fault pissed me off.

I find it interesting that it takes less time to order TT blu-rays through Amazon than SAE. I ordered BITE THE BULLET late Tuesday night, and I received it today. I have not been able to get that same service from SAE's website since late Summer.

A couple months back I cancelled an order for some TT blus a couple weeks before release date. I got a reply back from SAE that is was cancelled. I double checked my order on the website, which said CANCELLED. Good. Well, a few weeks later those same TTs that I cancelled came in the mail. They did indeed charge me and when I go on the SAE site to check the status of the order, it still said cancelled. I ended up just keeping them to avoid the hassle of returning them since I would have bought them at some point in the future anyway, but still irrritating.

Boy that's really pretty bad. That even leaves me with a sour taste for SAE. (Well a more sour taste, had a bit of one already.)

I think that they (SAE) realize they are the primary carrier of certain things and they are just riding on it since they know people won't do without. The problem comes in that we love films, and many of these do not have international releases so we're stuck with them or without what we love.
It feels kind of like when Circuit City closed and the local best buy manager once told me something to the effect of "No more competition, we can do as we please" Needless to say, BB cleared out all staff within a year and the new manager is a stoner. Anything goes.

I was a regular customer for years too but I'm pretty much done with them. I might, might get a TT title or two but...yeah. I'm done. And not for nothing, between all the soundtracks I've purchased from them plus some TT titles I've probably spent at least over a thousand bucks easy over the past few years. I'm happy to spend my money elsewhere.

Upcoming promotion mentioned here on the TT Facebook page.
Quote:
The lovely Andrea Marcovicci signs some booklets from TT's blu-ray release of "The Front" for an upcoming promotion...
Someone also asked if these promotions are going to be a monthly thing. TT said...

We're going to see if we can do one a month---as you can imagine getting everyone together with conflicting schedules makes it all a bit unpredictable!

Does anyone know why Bite the Bullet is $35 instead of the usual $30?
