Default Godspeed Harold

First of all Godspeed Harold Ramis and may God be with his family during this time.

I have Stripes (blu-ray) on my Amazon wishlist. Right now it shows out of stock which is not surprising.
Moving a back-order to my Cart.

Maybe it's out of print, and Sony may actually put out the theatrical cut???

Why the hell don't studios put out BOTH cuts of ANY film where two different cuts are available? They would both EASILY fit on one disc. [The only exception are the four versions of Blade Runner, which obviously wouldn't fit on just one disc.]

[e.g. I have to watch the hilarious RiffTrax of DareDevil with the DVD because it doesn't sync to the blu-ray, because the blu is only the Director's Cut.]

Even worse is Hellboy. It's bad enough that the BD only contains the Director's Cut, but the extras don't match up so that not only do I have to keep the original cut 2-Disc DVD, but the Director's Cut 3-Disc DVD as well.

Maddening.

Cool! Looked into Nicholas and Alexandra and I am adding it to my TT wishlist.

Oh, and I fixed my TT uniformity issue. Man In The Dark is in its third case so far and this one should be its permanent home...

You didn't miss much with Night of the Living Dead. I got it for $35 and it was a huge letdown for all the waiting and anticipation. I will also be buying The Blob and Used Cars.

Speaking of superior theatrical cuts, I would like TT to put out the original theatrical version of Tony Scott's REVENGE. When Scott made the DC, he altered the music and shortened the film by roughly twenty minutes, removing a ton of character development.

I seem to remember reading somewhere in this thread about buying 4 or 5 movies and getting a discount ... Was that for TCM or SAE? I emailed SAE a few days ago, but they have not responded.

I agree. I thought the DC was inferior, especialy since the new music (which also showed up in Scott's Man on Fire) felt really out of place when compared to original 80s era score. I too would love to see TT release the theatrical cut.

It wasn't a discount per se. I believe you are referring to the free signed copy of "The Driver" that was available when you spent over $100 on Twilight Time product on the Screen Archives website. In effect it's a buy 4 get 1 free sale, since it takes 4 Blu-rays to get you over the $100 mark and snag the free signed copy of the additional title.

The free Driver was available for a grand total of 7 minutes I believe. Screen Archives customer service is getting worse and worse as of late. I am not surprised they never answered your question. My order from last week contained only already-available titles and no preorders, yet it's been almost a week now and it still hasn't shipped. They have no problems charging your credit card right away, though...

It seems to me the problem most likely is that SAE is getting more and more business, but has the same number of staff working as they have over the past several years. Thus, everything is taking longer and longer. We all know what the answer is with a dilemma such as this, but hiring additional staff isn't likely on the table.
obviously not a good situation when added to the worsening situation with the mail system in this country.
It's like it's hard enough to get bds in stores; now getting them online is becoming more and more of a hassle.

What are the chances of Wild at Heart being a PQ upgrade over past blu-ray releases?

It was 19 days before I received a shipping email after 2 cancellation requests. Then rude customer service and an additional 5 days to receive package. That's my latest order.

The only thing we can hope for is that it doesn't use the Universal master used in the UK release that one is awful, I'm hoping that MGM has a different North American master that TT is using. I wish TT would chime in.

TT have already chimed in.

http://www.facebook.com/twilighttime...t=feed_comment

The director approved (albeit old) master is in MGM's possesion, and will be used by TT.

BTW, best to keep track of the specific thread for the film/release : https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=231263

Unfortunately, these clowns take a week at the minimum to ship an in stock item.

Shoot them a mail. At the worst, they'll tell you that you are in a queue. At the best, they'll tell you that you order has suddenly/magically entered shipping.

Maybe for you because your international. My in stock order only took two business days for shipment. But it was a $34.50 dollar order so...
