Discmakers recently got new supply in; just because Cinram decided to switch to eco-cases doesn't mean that Discmakers has. Casetopia also has the non-eco Viva Elites in stock again.

But Discmakers is still a competitor of Cinram, and neither Discmakers nor Casetopia (who I usually get my replacement cases from) may have had 3,000 non-eco cases on hand for every remaining TT release this year. On short notice, TT may not have had any other option that would have met Cinram's dictates.

True. At basically 15,000 cases needed EACH MONTH, I doubt seriously if a retailer could easily keep up. They would have the same (or worse) delays in replenishing their supplies as Twilight Time. Going directly to the source avoids the middleman delays.

Has Twilight Time/SAE stated whether or not we will have to wait a couple extra days past the release date every single time now in order to acquire non-eco friendly blu-ray cases?

I have 13 of the 36, and will probably pick up 4-5 or so in the sale.

I would also recommend Bite The Bullet, it's probably my fav listed. Great quality, fun movie, and one of the $35 titles, $25 looks a lot better to me. Picnic is one of those I will be getting.

You might be better off reading a review of it, but I enjoyed it. Cast is good/great, story is decent. It was a blind buy for me, but Preminger is a director I've found that I like, and every so often I go in search of more of his movies.

In the original announcement they said they were ordering enough non-eco cases for the rest of this year. Never say never, but it's not likely to happen again.

Is Enemy Mine sold out? The OP doesn't say so. What else is sold out but not in the OP?

Anyone who doesn't have Rapture should not pass on it with this sale. In my opinion, it is still the finest release in Twilight Time's catalog. If you like Hitchcock, Bergman, or even Polanski's Repulsion, then Rapture should be on your short list. The fact that it has not sold out yet is a real shame, and a sad commentary on how this hauntingly beautiful and touching masterpiece has disappeared from the public memory since its release in 1965. John Guillermin directed Rapture just before The Blue Max, and considers it the best work among his varied filmography.

For those interested in reading some more about it, this is what I wrote two years ago in this thread:

[Show spoiler]Rapture is an astonishing film. Except for occasional visits to network TV over the years, it has been relegated to vault status since its release in 1965. That is a shame, because the film is a real gem and deserves to be seen. It is emotionally compelling, amazingly well acted, and is a showcase of absolutely beautiful music and cinematography. I have never seen rocky beaches and coastlines look so stunning in black and white. Fox has finally given it the home video treatment it deserves, and for me it is the standout film among all of Twilight Time's releases.

The story and cinematography give Rapture a strong neo-gothic atmosphere, as brooding and ominous as the storm-shrouded Breton coast where the film takes place. Events are set in motion with the arrival of an escaped prisoner (played by a young Dean Stockwell) into the isolated lives of an emotionally fragile teenage girl named Agnes (played by Patricia Gozzi) and her father and housekeeper. The plot is handled deftly, teetering on the edge of becoming a horror film one moment and a heartfelt awakening the next. It manages to build suspense because we never quite know what is going to happen. There is redemption and sacrifice like in many great films, and scenes that are truly memorable for their tender and moving portrayal of a girl's loneliness and despair. And yet, in its heart of darkness, there is a love of life in Rapture that beats joyously loud. The actors are all superb, especially Patricia Gozzi, who shows a range of ability rarely seen in a young star. This is an unforgettable film that will stay with you after watching it. I can see why the director John Guillermin considers this to be his finest work.

While watching Rapture, I thought about some of the taboo elements in the movie that would make it nearly impossible to be made today with the same level of honesty and intensity. Agnes is emotionally vulnerable and isolated in the world around her, and confused by her awareness of her budding sexuality. She is like a living version of the childhood doll she still cherishes, easily broken if treated carelessly. The viewer's uncertainty of whether she is mentally disturbed or merely emotionally immature due to being ill-used by callous adults, makes Rapture both a dark fairy tale and a gently uplifting coming of age story.

I don't know quite what to compare it to, it is a unique film. I think if someone likes Hitchcock and Bergman, they will like Rapture. It also reminded me of elements of early Polanski, specifically Repulsion. The PQ is a glorious, a rich and beautiful black and white Cinemascope feast for the eyes. Audio is also good, with a haunting score by Georges Delerue that compliments the film perfectly. Very highly recommended.

NOTE: Rapture used to be posted on YouTube in nine parts, but it looks like it has been taken down. I did a brief search just now and could not find it.
You've convinced me to finally bite on this one. Thanks for the input!

The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1973) and Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger (1977) are both sold out.

Definitely picking up:

Rapture
Bonjour Tristesse
Sexy Beast
Jane Eyre

Maybe picking up:

Picnic

Any opinions for or against Picnic? I'm on the fence.

So some of the ALFREDO GARCIA orders have shipped? I ordered this with two other titles a couple of weeks ago. Still pending.

All except Mindwarp.

Also not getting the Channel 4 releases for now, but might eventually.

And thanks for the attaboy.

I would like to convert the OP into cover art icons linked to the database same as the Olive thread, but it will be slow going for a bit since I will only be able to do a little each night and the weekend until I get them all up.
