I think I would find it preaty unacceptable if these sales items (many of them titles that have been out for months or years) are not in stock. If they weren't, the SAE website should indicate otherwise so people have some kind of basic idea if they will be getting it anytime soon.

This is not accurate. All 3,000 are produced at the same time. Unless a title is a large seller during preorders, however, 2,000 are typically shipped to SAE while the remaining 1,000 are warehoused until needed. |

Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing & The Song of Bernadette both arrived today.
I also discovered something else that may have relevance to the case controversy: 1K Studios, the company that mastered all four TT BDs I own (including the case-deprived All the King's Men), is owned by the same company as Cinram, their replicator. It seems TT has an almost turnkey relationship with 1K/Cinram, which may have limited their options once Cinram switched to eco cases. (Fox/MGM is one of Cinram's biggest customers; they've used eco cases for years.) Still, All the King's Men's Infiniti case looks cheap alongside the Viva Elites my other TT titles came in. Perhaps they should consider something like Vortex's "eco-lite" cases, which have thin spots but are still solid plastic. |

Okay. I knew that all 3000 are not shipped to SAE and TCM, but was not aware that they pressed all of them at once.

Still better than stupid eco cases. Worst case scenario I swap out the cases the new TT titles come in for one of the ones on another of my Blus that matches up with the older TT cases. I have about 50 or so single and double cases I bought from a supplier in Toronto a couple of years ago. Eco cases are either trashed by me or I put titles I am going to trade in (for instance I recently got the Superman Anthology so I need to trade in Superman I and II at the local used CD/DVD/Blu/Game store). It kind of bites if the new TT cases look different than the older ones but I am still happier getting a non eco case than an eco case. As for the "eco-lite" case I recently got a Blu with one of those and it is not a bad compromise. Not as good as the older solid cases but at least twice as good as the crappy eco cases that are simply junk. |

i'm still waiting for the equus set of releases to ship. Ordered the second they were up and scored a signed copy of The Driver and mine is still pending while people who ordered stuff yesterday have had theirs ship out. It's disheartening to read this stuff. I also have a sale items order of 12 titles that is still pending. I own every TT but 7 now and i plan to catch up on those 7 too but you'd think they'd give those who give their full support to TT a bit better treatment. Or even just some treatment at all.

Yep
Hardly. It's the very epitome of Western entitlement to be endlessly *****ing about how long people are having to wait for their little movies, how the cover art isn't fancy enough, how the cases are not to their liking, blah, blah, blah. I'm done with this nonsense. Have fun children. |
