Yes, it most certainly is... I will gladly upgrade the non-anamorphic World Films MGM DVD's to Twilight Time Blu-ray's and I was really hoping that some of the Truffaut ones would be released and thought that Twilight Time was probably going to be a good possibility for them. So this is indeed excellent news.

I would love to see either Truffaut's The Bride Wore Black or Small Change released....preferably in September or October so I can add one of them to The Blob order I'll be putting in.

Am I imagining things or was Peckinpah's The Killer Elite hinted at as a future TT release a little while back?

I'm betting that the one title they refer to is The Bride Wore Black. Not entirely sure why; it just seems like the most TT-like of that bunch of films.

Yep...Bernard Herrmann isolated score would be right up their alley.

Yep, they confirmed that they have it, but the release date isn't known yet.

Personally, I hope the 'perhaps others will follow' pans out as I'd want to get all of them on Blu-ray. For what it's worth, someone else commented that they hoped it would be The Story of Adele H. and Twilight Time liked the comment so it might be that one (which is certainly one of my favorites). I hope Small Change isn't far off either... and I agree that The Bride Who Wore Black would make perfect sense (the isolated Bernard Herrmann score would be neat).

I'm sure THAT would work, I don't actually want two copies of this, I'm more just curious how their system works.

TT has released another perennial favourite film of mine - Hard Times. I ordered that one too.

Actually, along with The Bride Wore Black and Small Change, Mississippi Mermaid and The Story of Adele H. are other MGMG DVD titles that could also do with upgrades.

I'd buy the 4 of them.

Earlier this month I bought MGM's "Limited Edition Collection"* DVD-R of "The Green Room" since it had dropped in price and I hadn't seen it in years. Unfortunately it's a 4x3 letterboxed version and looks even worse than that suggests. But I've always thought that it and "The Man Who Loved Women" would make a great two-fer set, inextricably linked movies that are opposite sides of the same coin. Apparently elements to create an HD version of at least the former aren't available.

Maybe at least the Woolrich adaptations have been given HD transfers since I think they may have aired on MGM-HD. Have other titles been broadcast in HD?

Anyway, thanks for this news and I'm sure I'll order whatever Truffaut title(s) they release.

* I find it hilarious that someone had the gall to call a DVD-R series the "Limited Edition Collection"

EDIT: This is the endearingly inappropriate "Green Room" USA theatrical poster I have scotch taped to my basement wall.

For me I really want the Blob as a companion peace for my copy of NOTLD90.
I was unlucky enough to purchase this title through TT before it sold out in days. I really like the film even though the color timing is so god awful. I am blind buying the Blob because its a Sony TT released horror film. I don't even really like Christine that much but regret not purchasing a copy before it sold out. I'm a fan of car movies and Carpenter films and that transfer looks amazing.
I really just want another TT horror film in my collection that actually has a good transfer. Also I really like Sony films released through TT, Used Cars transfer is amazing.

The European DVD isn't any better: a fullframe transfer that loses a surprising amount of visual information in being cropped from its original 1.66:1 ratio with plenty of scratches on a disc that not only comes without any extras but doesn't even have a menu page. But it's always been one of the least seen and least distributed of Truffaut's films and is unlikely to get an HD upgrade. A shame, because it's one of his most fascinating films even if it is the hardest to market - as if the New world poster wasn't bad enough, in some territories they changed the title to The Vanishing Fiance and tried to sell it as a Hitchcockian thriller.

Apologies for replying to myself. I wonder how long it'll be before they'll disappear altogether; after the Facebook post about low quantities I'm surprised they're still available, if only because, in a way, post updates like these often serve as self-fulfilling prophecies.

I have a question on TT...most of their titles are $29.99 but there's one I'm looking at that's $34.99. Does the higher price mean it's close to selling out ?

My order just shipped, a day after I pulled the trigger. I read about crazy shipping times for some people on here, so I'm pleasantly surprised they're on the way so soon; if it wasn't Sunday in two days I'd have probably have had them by then. Ah well, hopefully Monday.

No, the price has nothing to do with its availability. Five of the early Sony/Columbia titles were initially priced at $34.95 instead of $29.95. Presumably, Sony was asking for a higher license fee on these, although in at least one case (Major Dundee), it's a 2-disc set.

On the flip side, it appears that most (if not all) of the Channel Four Films are being released at $24.95.
