I think if Disney were actually to release Song of the South, TT would be perfect for it. People who really want it can have a chance to grab it, but it wouldn't be a widespread release either. Disney seems to be paranoid about this title damaging their reputation or people starting an outcry over it, so by TT releasing the film, it would fly under most people's radars. I'd personally like Disney to just put out the film themselves, but if TT is the only way they would do it, then I'd still be ecstatic.

I'm VERY excited at the prospect of ANY old school AIP horrors. If I was forced to pare down my disc collection (both DVD and BD) to the barest of essentials, I'd have a core of old AIP movies.
I don't want to get too "wish listy" (not a real word) but I want to speak up for another group that is also part of the AIP/Orion/MGM family. The iconic beach party movies of the early to mid 1960's came out of the same Alta Vista/American International Pictures/Orion/MGM pipeline that produced those classic horror films. All the major studios had their own beach-themed teenage movies during that era but it is a non-existent genre on Blu-ray. The influence of those films lives today. In 2013, Disney did a spoof/homage to the original beach party films with their production of TEEN BEACH MOVIE. The synopsis begins as "Life's a beach for surfers Brady and McKenzie -- until a rogue wave magically transports them inside the classic '60s beach party flick...". and Disney made it available on DVD. So these are not films whose reach died out with swingin' 60's. So I put in my wish for 1963's BEACH PARTY (but I'll take any and all sequels). Written by Winnipeg's own Lou Russof, when BEACH PARTY opened at the Garrick Theatre in Winnipeg, both Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello were here in attendance. I'd commit to a big, multi disc purchase for any of the beach party flicks. Many a cold winter's day, I dig out the old DVD just to watch this: |

I absolutely love Theatre of Blood (and what a stunning soundtrack!). To be honest, though, I watched it with my brother back in the day and he found it so cheesy it got my squirming, hah. I mean sure, it's not high art, but it's good, campy fun mixed with lots of gore.
Price's attempt at a Scottish accent is hilarious and I can't say no to Diana Rigg. |

On TT's Facebook page someone posted asking about Cutter's Way, At Close Range, Miami Blues and State of Grace. TT replied back indicating that 2 of those mentioned titles would be released within the next couple of years. Hoping one of those is Cutter's Way.
