Blob will sell out before the release date, probably not Christine fast if it's got a more restricted purchase limit. If another cult horror/sci-fi film get's a TT release around the same time I'd expect it'll get a nice bump like The Fury did when it went up for preorder the same day as Christine, and who knows that might give a further bump to The Blob if people want to preorder the other movie and then decide to get The Blob too.

For many months, I would order within a minute or two of the pre-orders going up, and my order would take on average two weeks after release date to ship. I couldn't do the pre-order thing this time because I was on vacation so I decided to see if I would get my order shipped faster if I waited until the 1st of June to place my order. I received a shipping notice today for the June items.

I cannot wait for Man Hunt!

That's the title that quickens my pulse more than anything else in September/October.

This is great news if true and it also gives TT an excuse to press 2,000 more copies of Fright Night and Christine.

Well except I think with those it's a what's done is done. I don't think they can actually just print up more now unfortuneately for those that missed out.

Under Fire (one of the "Not necessarily Nicaraguan/Salvadoran Contras" movies that sprung up during the Reagan era) is remembered for one of Jerry Goldsmith's best Oscar-nominated scores, but.....not much else:

...the sound you all may be hearing is that of my wallet/bank account shrinking in the fall. Definitely in for KILLER ELITE and SALVADOR in September and THE BELIEVERS and THE BLOB in October. UNDER FIRE is a great film also, but I don't think it's going to sell out right away.

Nice lineup, I must say.

Che! came out of nowhere. I'm in for The Killer Elite, Under Fire, La Bamba and Man Hunt right away. I'll most likely will pu The Blob also. The others I will hold off on.

I was in for the Blob, and I am happy to see 5000 units , that will ensure that more people will have time to pre-order, and be get the film that really want it.
And the other movie ManHunt is a big time keeper - a great Walter Pidgeon programmer with Joan Bennett and George KFC COl. Sanders

The excuse may be, but I think they have to work that deal out before the release. The Blob they learned from the fast sell outs / popularity to negotiate for The Blob.

I have a feeling once the 3 yr expires on those former titles they may be able to do a new deal for a re-issue unless SONY would rather release those titles. Somehow SONY with catalog titles hasn't been the best lately.

It's great THE BLOB is getting an increased number. It is amusing that selling 5,000 units of any catalog Blu would be hard for any studio label to sell through regular channels, but because these are labeled as "limited" and have a $30 boutique label price tag, they will fly out the door, even 5,000 units. Maybe they can up the next horror one to a 10,000, or 50,000 limited edition?

Ordered "Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison" this morning...

Just can't have enough Robert Mitchum on Blu-Ray.

I hope "Out of the Past", "His Kind of Woman" and "The Lusty Men" get released on Blu someday.

The Yakuza Here! I wish Warner Archive would do that title!
