Hmm, seems like a few posts were deleted recently, so here I have to repost this.

I prefer Mechanic to Death Wish but they're totally different animals. To me, Mechanic has more of a Day of the Jackal, espionage type vibe from it although it does have a few great action set-pieces. Even if you don't agree with me and think that Death Wish is better, I can't see you being disappointed in the Mechanic.

Clearly, other people here have acted upon your suggestions and tried their darndest to corroborate your story. Other than your claims, nobody else seems to be aware of this issue. No need to lash out then when their efforts at investigating your claims turn out to be fruitless. I would suggest that if you think the DVD/Blu-Ray cut has altered music in contrast to what you remember from your TV viewings, then try contacting either Twilight Time on their Facebook page or even Sony. Otherwise, please be respectful to other users on the forum who are only trying to help, especially as you appear to be a newbie.

Has there been any buzz yet about an autographed edition during this month's preorders?

That's a pretty high regard for the mechanic. I think I will be getting this movie in the near future, I saw the trailer as well and thought it looked good there as well. Thanks for your input.

My shipment from Twilight Time arrived today.

The Train
The Mechanic
Two Rode Together
The Man from Laramie
Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison
Used Cars (autographed copy)

A lot of people express negative opinions about SAE, but I don't have a problem with getting a free autographed Blu-ray when I spend over $100.

It's great that they sent them stacked in order of 'length of title or description'!

I just ordered Pal Joey from SAE because I've taken it upon myself to collect the Rita Hayworth movies.

I probably should have waited until Wednesday, though.

There is never a wrong moment to add more Rita Hayworth. Hopefully someday we will get I Want to Live.

And don't forget Kim Novak in her prime! I like Frank Sinatra's response to the question about how he felt being billed after Hayworth and before Novak:

"That's a sandwich I don't mind being stuck in the middle of."

That's true. This will go nicely on the shelf sandwiched between my Rita Hayworth Blu-rays (The Lady from Shanghai, Cover Girl, the Italian Blu-ray of Gilda, and Blood and Sand, which is on its way to me in the mail) and my Kim Novak Blu-rays (Book, Bell and Candle, Picnic, etc.). Actually, I could stick my Blu-ray of the Frank Sinatra noir, Suddenly, in the middle as well as an homage to the quote.

I'm surprised TT hasn't done Gilda or Down to Earth yet. Of course, in the second case, they really should do Here Comes Mr. Jordan first.

On edit: Oh, and You'll Never Get Rich and You Were Never Lovelier. We need some Hayworth/Astaire action.

Rita Hayworth is second only to Jean Arthur on my "Favorite Actresses" list.
