I also scored an Autographed copy, Nancy Kwan is Great and absolutely Gorgeous in "The World of Suzie Wong", Her Bio is quite interesting which I also had purchased earlier in DVD with the autographed Disc.

Because they are knowledgeable? It's not like we're talking about the janitor and the mail-room boy. Nick Redman is one of the founders of Twilight Time, and he and Julie Kirgo are billed as "film historians" on The Train). In fact, in a lot of respects, I preferred the Kirgo, Redman, and Payl Seydor commentary track on The Train more than the John Frankenheimer commentary.

These generally aren't Best Picture winners or highly-acclaimed masterpieces, and, instead, they're the sort of movies that are great just to chill out to on a Sunday afternoon.

The titles from the supposed lower end of the spectrum from the careers of John Ford or John Huston are still darn entertaining, as are the throwaway drive-in theater offerings.

One upcoming release, The Believers, is a movie that I saw about 20 times back when I was in high school and had a bad dubbed VHS copy. That movie falls perfectly in line with the above logic. It never won any awards, but it's a downright engaging story.

I guess that's why I became quite enthusiastic this month. These all seem to be enjoyable flicks.
Yes.

It's not in my top five in terms of Westerns on Blu-ray, but it's a terrific film nonetheless, and the PQ on the TT release is outstanding.

From their Facebook:

REVISED LOW QUANTITY ALERT FROM SAE:
OUR MAN FLINT - fewer than 300 remain
WILD AT HEART - fewer than 300 remain
ROLLERBALL- fewer than 350 remain
MY COUSIN RACHEL (DVD) - fewer than 400 remain
BRING ME THE HEAD OF ALFREDO GARCIA - fewer than 450 remain

Edit: with the follow-up comment: "In Like Flint is not that far behind -- closing in on 500 remaining."

Excuse the pedant inside me who is relieved to finally see them announce the low quantities as "fewer than X remain" instead of "less than X remain." We'll see if SAE follows suit as well, but if I recall TT had made "less than" announcements in the past.

Anyway, I'm glad I bought In Like Flint this time around. I would have been kicking myself for not having bought it after having bought Our Man Flint blindly a year ago and finding myself appreciating that movie more with time.

That's why I said some people do enjoy the commentaries.

Agreed. Kwan is a natural beauty; really glad I was able to grab her signature this go round. I'd love to see TT get their hands on Flower Drum Song, and or Suzi Wong. Those movies deserves a nice release on blu (with commentary, trailers, photo gallery).

yep, had to pay an actor once 700 dollar for on camera and audio commentary, then had to pay an actress once 500 to do an audio commentary, then an actor/director 2 grand for 2 commentaries, etc, etc, etc, it all depends on how friendly agents and/or the talents are to participate.

You base this on what? If a crew member is part of the IA you can bet your ass they have to be paid. SAG actors are all paid for their commentaries. Producers and Directors probably have their "fees" cover it, but to say that they wouldn't pay a union DP "on principle" is 100% wrong: they'd get in trouble with his union for trying an end run. Not to mention it would be professionally insulting to ask him to work for free.

I got one of the Nancy Kwan signatures as well. I'd been on the fence about FATE IS A HUNTER but I had four definite purchases to take care of so this pre-order was an easy sell... especially since I needed to pull the trigger on Rollerball.

RADIO DAYS
ROLLERBALL
THE MAN FROM LARAMIE
THE TRAIN

My next preorder will be the Sept. 9th batch with SALVADOR and KILLER ELITE.

I feel your pain. I was actually going to hold off ordering anything until September, but I'll probably go ahead and order this along with one of the July titles (Radio Days more than likely).

Since TT hasn't mentioned there are less than 500 copies left, maybe they are getting close to that # but are just being pro-active by dropping the limit to 1 per cust so more people have a chance at getting the title. I doubt it would be sold out by Saturday. You should be fine (I think I am right?)

It looks like the MGM dvd is out of print, so maybe that's why. The dvd is going for 69 bucks brand new on Amazon.
