Why is everyone so sure Mysterious Island will be re-released? I thought that took a year to sell out? The 4K scan I think will be Journey To The Center of The Earth. The Blu-ray doesn't look that good and could use improvement.

Secondly, they will be limited in what titles they reissue by which ones have 3-year licenses that will be expiring. Someone a few pages back made up a list of which titles will be expiring when, and when the reissues are supposed to be released to come up with an educated guess as to which titles are the most likely to be reissued when. While there are no guarantees, Mysterious Island is a pretty good bet. I think most people are assuming that the 4K scan title will be Journey to the Center of the Earth, though the problems with that title won't disappear with only a higher-resolution scan. The question is whether Fox did any restoration on it, and if they did, the question becomes, why would they go through the time and expense of doing a restoration only to license it out to someone else instead of releasing it themselves. Looks like my package, which should have been delivered today, at the latest (it shipped "Priority Mail 2-Day" on Tuesday), went to the wrong post office. At least whoever got it (po box) seems to have decided not to keep it, but beginning to look like Saturday now.
![]() Although it does appear that the package has left that building on the way to who knows where else today, so maybe... Last edited by fdm; 07-03-2014 at 06:03 PM. |

I can't complain about shipping times once SAE gets the package out the door. My most recent order departed Merrifield, Virginia early yesterday morning. 32 hours and 900+ driving miles later, the package was in my mailbox this morning (at around 10:00). And I live in an out-of-the-way small town too. I'm impressed.

But it's just nature to take the company's view, think not everybody's going to go for the little known 60's-70's classic right away, and say, "I'll get Rollerball....next month. ![]() Some of us have to, y'know, and we're the ones who end up suffering for it. |

It would be nice if I every other paragraph wasn't about the TT costs or limited quantity. This is how they run their business folks. Get over it already.

That's even reflected in the choices they've made after they released various of the hot sellers. Even after it was clear that the hot titles were the 70s/80s/90s horror/thriller films, they've continued to license and release a wide variety of films rather than focus on the ones they would be sure would be hot. |

How quickly is The Train likely to sell out.
I missed it in my order last week and don't really wanna pay postage again so soon. I also notice Bring me the head of Alfredo Garcia is close to selling out, so if I have to order The Train now, will probably order that with it maybe... What do people suggest? |

I don't mean to sound mean, but unless someone here works for TT or SAE, there's no real way to know how quickly any of their titles will sell out.
TT usually puts a mention on their Facebook page if a title drops to 500-700 copies, which is usually the point where people will say "If you want this title, you probably should order it real soon." But even when a title hits 500 copies, there really isn't a way of knowing whether it'll be completely sold out in a week or in a month or even in three months. At any rate, there has been nothing to suggest that The Train has gotten that low, though the restriction of only being able to order one copy suggests that it's been selling briskly. Basically, if you want a given title and are worried that it'll go OOP soon, bite the bullet and order it. Quote:
