SAE and TT do receive a lot of nonsense questions. I'd go postal if I had to answer all the Blob pre-order date questions. I understand that, but both companies should not use that as an excuse when there are legitimate problems. SAE might be a small company, but they're large enough to handle their Amazon orders on time so there is no excuse for delayed SAE orders AND not shipping out according to date of an order. If their "queue" method does not go by date of order, SAE should state that on their website. I shouldn't have to pay the guessing game (a week so far for the current pre-orders & no pending message or shipping confirmation email) to figure out when my SAE orders will ship out.

I believe I read the "Man Hunt" had been moved up to an August 12 release (because of the "Centennial Summer" delay), which (if my calculations are correct) would make one day this week the pre-order date but I've never seen an official confirmation. Has anyone seen an official confirmation?

Then it becomes quite easy to say, "Oh, here's another person whining that his order will ship tomorrow instead of yesterday." Particularly when the time spent answering said emails is time taken from the business that would otherwise use the time to dispatch the orders. How long would it take before even the most understanding of us might resort to one line "cool your boots, man" responses?

I've ordered several things from TT via Screen Archives, and no, they haven't all shipped or arrived precisely on schedule, but they've all arrived, well packaged, undamaged, and within what I would characterize as a "reasonable window of time". Like, maybe a couple of days late -- possibly a week late once or twice.

But as a fellow anal-retentive movie geek who gets seriously excited about blu-rays...some of these cats just need to take a deep breath; life's too short to spend half of it mired in indignant email exchanges.
If you accept a job in customer service, then complaints are part and parcel of the job. We are all impatient, especially when companies can delay/screw-up shipping and don't offer anything other than "I'm sorry". If, as a customer, I screw up something that makes the company suffer an inconvenience I doubt they would be as quick to accept "I'm Sorry".

you go into a customer service job, expect the down sides with it. can't deal with, get out

It's not that hard to be prompt and polite with email responses. I did it for enough years to realize customer CAN be jackasses, but under no circumstances were we allowed (or should be allowed) to not be professional in our response times and tones

Today's emails with SAE went rather well. I did not receive a signed copy of Garcia. The package shipped without it. They still do not have it. So options were given and a solution was found. I am happy with the end result. Today was great and whomever I was dealing with earned my return business.

Yes, you undoubtedly did read that somewhere. It's true. Scan through the previous pages of this very thread.

Check the first posting in this thread. It mentions when the next pre-order date is.

The lovely Judy Geeson signing BRANNIGAN booklets for TT's upcoming promotion with the July 23rd pre-orders....Judy was the consummate pro, especially considering she broke her "signing" arm in a fall two months ago and is still recovering...thank you so much for your dedication to the TT cause, dear!

I would never trust them with another Twilight Time order (especially on a fast moving title).

Terrible, terrible customer service.
I agree.
I ordered 3 TWILIGHT TIME tittles, they shipped two of them out.
But The Golden Voyage Of Sinbad was on back order for months.
I figured they would just canceled it after so many days if the movie did not come back in stock.

But instead of canceling the back order Sinbad, they charged me and used A old Tracking ID number saying it was ship with another movie.
i do have the invoice with that tracking number, and its for one Twilight Time
movie,so the mistake is on their end.

Also had problems with some Digibooks I ordered from them last year.
Most of them got canceled, then I received A email saying they experienced an issue in our system in which your order was cancelled without cause and
then reinstated the order.

Update

Even though TCM site says they shipped and charged me for Sinbad.

My CC was never really charged. But they did charged my CC A total of 8 times for 2 orders and 16 movies.
One charge was for shipping alone.
Just really confusing as I order lots of movies from different online stores.

Has it been confirmed if TT will issue Woman Obsessed, and The Kremlin Letter on Blu. I have the Blu upgrades for Fate is the Hunter, and Violent Saturday. What other titles were DVD only?

FROM SAE:

July 18th - LOW QUANTITY ALERT for TWILIGHT TIME - Fewer than 250 copies remain of THE TRAIN (1964). This is strictly limit one PER CUSTOMER.

Ah, dang it! I was hoping the quantities would last until early next month. And I was gonna use my money to buy either another Criterion blu-ray from B&N or Two 3DS games for one price.

Now I might have to skip these sales to rush in on The Train.

I would have normally rushed out to grab The Train before it goes OOP, but this title has sold pretty quickly so there's a good chance it will get a re-release. Am I the only one that isn't so concerned about Twilight title going OOP anymore?

Yeah that's true, although maybe not that long as we don't know when they signed the deal, ala. Christine.

The movie looks pretty good, but I am so behind my watch pile (And I don't think this would go to the top of the heap) that I am fine with waiting. Obviously if you want to watch the film right away, buy it now, but before I would buy any title that got low that interested me in fear it would go OOP and I would never get a chance to grab it on Blu again. Now there's a lot less pressure to run out and buy Twilight Time's titles unless I am going to watch them right away. Since I don't have unlimited funds I think I would rather put the money towards some Criterion titles during Barnes and Noble's sale (I'll be able to grab two or three titles for the price of this). Obviously I am just commenting on my current situation and how it's not that stressful anymore when a Twilight Time title goes OOP.
