I haven't seen it in forever! I'm not sure which studio/company owns the rights, but it looks like it's been OOP for a while. Sounds like something that could be right up Twilight Time's alley to resurrect. Any possibilities?

Here's just one of the positive comments found on Amazon's website:
"Stop-Motion fans should check this out for it's stop-mo dinosaurs. It was made in 1960 and was double-billed with The Blob. Producer Jack H. Harris went on to produce Equinox ( 1971 ), The Blob ( 1988 remake ) and several others. The brontosaurus model later apeared in a TWILIGHT ZONE episode."

Check it out here:

I'd love to see someone release this forgotten "classic" from 1994, Dinosaur Island - though I imagine it won't be Twilight Time. I likely can't post the entire trailer here, as it would probably be deemed mildly inappropriate:

Some of the cheesiest creature effects you're ever likely to see. Definitely not Harryhausen.

Basically paid for the shipping, which is high and has gone up here and at Intrada and just about everywhere.
The code was specifically sent to people who left items in their cart/on their wishlist, as was stated earlier in the thread.

Nah, I think "sir" does the trick, and I'm confident that krasnoludek is smart enough to realize my "actual thanks" is directed at him.

Clicking the Thanks button doesn't cost any money but fair enough.

:-) I like word thanks as much as the clicked thanks. It's courtesy either way.

Besides SAE says they have fewer than 750 left still. I think that after all this time, and they have that many, I still have time to keep looking, lol.
Same here... one guy was selling it, I PM'd him and he'd already sold it and forgot to update his thread. Frustrating! This was also not one of the titles included in the anniversary sale a few months back. I ended up just biting the bullet and ordering it. The worst that can happen is I won't like it and I'll have to flip it on E-Bay and probably end up making my money back, especially if it goes OOP. (And before anyone pipes up, NO I WON'T be scalping it for a hundred bucks or anything.)

eBay can be a "stupid magnet", and has been for years. Back about a dozen years ago there was a Canadian/German TV science fiction series called Lexx that started out a few years earlier as a series of four TV movies. The original movies were released on DVD in Canada, though not in the US. One could easily order those DVDs from an e-tailer in Canada for, oh, about US$70-something for the four, but people were paying upwards of twice that much for the set of four on eBay.

I've had a couple of TT blind buys that I ended up selling on E-Bay. Starting at 99 cents, they all wound up going for somewhere in the range of $40-45. Bear in mind these were titles still available at SAE, not OOP titles. I just can't wrap my head around this. Let's say you're looking for Bell, Book and Candle on blu-ray. You make E-Bay your first stop and notice all the listings say "Twilight Time, Limited Edition 3000", wouldn't you maybe then Google it to see what that's all about? And then wouldn't that lead you to Screen Archives where you can clearly see the retail price is cheaper than the $60 some scalper is selling it for on E-bay? You don't have to be the type to frequent these blu-ray specific forums to figure that one out. I also notice a lot of listings calling that particular title "OOP" when clearly it's not.

I think those listings are arguing that it's technically "OOP" as soon as TT gets its 3000 copies printed, because no more are being printed and no one has a license to print any more for the near future (in the US). So it is "out of print". The fact that those limited copies are still available from the original vendor just means it hasn't "sold out".

Ironic that eBay should come up right now...

My son just came in from the pool, the mailman just delivered

Violent Saturday from SAE, regular price of course, and
The Big Heat from an eBay seller... sealed / packed conscientiously, so no damage, and only $57.98 which included First Class shipping, so it got here in 48 hours.

If they're "scalping" then so did you. And neither of you did. It's called the second hand market.

I'm not sure I'd call it "scalping" if -- as baheidstu did -- you start off with a 99¢ bid. From that point on it's (quite literally) the buyers who are setting the price. And while he didn't explicitly say so, baheidstu certainly implies that he bought the discs, watched them, decided he didn't want to keep them, and put them up on eBay.

"Scalping" implies that the person bought the item specifically to turn around and sell it at a higher price. I'd only call an eBay seller a scalper if the item is still sealed, and the minimum bid is higher than the SRP.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but in response to a question on Facebook, TT answered that there won't be a signed promo for August, but that the promos will return in September.

September pre-orders (meaning for the October releases) are going to be a little hectic, between a promo, The Blob, and a supporting cast of above-average titles!

That's it exactly. If the item(s) ended up selling for $19.99 each, I would have been fine with that.

I have a copy of The Driver signed by Walter Hill that I would be interested in swapping for a copy of the OOP The Train. Please PM me if you're interested.

Thanks to those who posted the code. I picked up a couple of titles with it, and the code basically negated the shipping costs.
