I think it is a shame some are dismissing the November and December lineup. Nothing of interest? Are you kidding me?

Judgment at Nuremburg and Birdman of Alcatraz should be at the top of everyone's buy list. These are two films that are so good and such timeless classics that they are the kinds of titles that make me dislike TT's limited to 3000 release model, but I will damn sure be there on pre-order day adding them gladly to my cart.

The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Bunny Lake is Missing, and Inherit the Wind are not far behind them.

This is a really impressive lineup.

Twilight Samurai is a great movie, as well as the other two in the trilogy (The Hidden Blade and Love and Honor). I have watched them all (HD DVD versions) about 4 times now and they are probably my favorite Japanese movies (less so Love and Honor), especially when it comes to replay value. I always have the urge to rewatch them.

Very impressive list of titles for November and December. I was getting worried as I thought their selection was starting to head south there for a few months (which is good news for my wallet), but they are back in fine form.

Probably sell out within the same time frame, with Birdman perhaps quicker.

Totally in agreement with everything you posted above Bruce. Also, excited about Judgment at Nuremburg and Birdman of Alcatraz...really happy about their Blu-ray announcement.

In comparing these announcements to those of recent months, I think it's a matter not just of taste, but of spending priorities. Personally, i live for 60s and 70s titles, and THE KILLER ELITE or THE MECHANIC generally excite me more than anything in the canon. I'm also more inclined to drop $30 on an obscure title than an established classic I've had ready access to my entire life. None of which is to diss any of this month's announcements, to each their own, but each month I'm hoping for another title like my TT favorites RAPTURE, THE DISAPPEARANCE, HARD TIMES, THE DRIVER, VIOLENT SATURDAY, THUNDERBOLT, the Peckinpahs, etc.

I will say that while I'm overall a big fan of TT, now that Kino Studio Classics is mining similar terrain, it's hard not to root for certain titles to go their way, and thus have a wider release at a cheaper price.

I hope TT continues to be generous to the older titles as well. I was referring to the Sept/Oct titles as being below par personally. Not sure if I'll buy any from those two months (besides I have to skimp to pay for that expensive Japanese Thunderbirds TV series import that was inspired by the TT release ).

Just noticed that they are doing 6 movies a month starting in November. I thought that was a lot of movies for two months announcements. I plan to buy 8 of them for sure, so it will be rather expensive so I hope I get them with free signed copies of movies I don't already have.

I figure that it's not going to be one of his big ones, so...

As it's an MGM-owned (Orion) title, my guess is The Hand (1981). It seems like something that's up TT's alley.

Back-up guess would be the Sony-owned U Turn (1997).

If TT have made a deal with Universal, then Talk Radio would be a great choice. Really good film.

I agree and I hope I can get a copy of Judgment at Nuremberg before they sell out. I bet this one sells out quickly. The DVD has been OOP in the US for some time.

That and Birdman of Alcatraz they could probably sell more than 3000. My guess is that these are not horror titles they won't have a limit or it will be 10 per person. So scalpers may jump on these

I'm surprised there doesn't seem to be much interest on here so far for When The Wind Blows. It really is a fantastic film and I'm not even that big on animation. Funny, disturbing and heart-wrenching all at the same time.

Well, I can dream but i would ask for JFK theatrical cut with the John Williams isolated score!

Thanks for bringing attention to it. After looking at a few reviews, this looks like something I might get into. Another unearthed TT gem?

I'm in for Birdman of Alcatraz and Judgment at Nuremberg for November, and maybe The Fortune (blind buy) for December. Must admit that I'd never heard of Bunny Lake is Missing... is it worth a blind buy?

I really love it. I'm not going to upgrade, but it's a great mystery with some strange sequences. Plus The Zombies are in it!

I'm getting Birdman, Wind, Inherit the Wind and Miss Jean Brodie.

I just finished watching Violent Saturday, and it's every bit as good as I had hoped.

I love 1950s color CinemaScope movies, and this one looks beautiful on Blu-ray, almost to the point where I feel as though I could reach out and touch the automobiles and suit jackets. I had to turn up the volume slightly to hear the dialogue, but everything comes across clear, and the lack of subtitles is not as much of an issue as I had expected.

Violent Saturday may be a color film that takes place predominantly in broad daylight, but it definitely qualifies as a film noir. The shadiness of characters who initially appear to be perfect Norman Rockwell small-town people lends a few interesting angles to the story so that it hits the ground running once the shooting starts. I also appreciated the movie's depiction of some harsher aspects of post-World War II life.

This is one of the better Twilight Time titles out there.
