It was posted 6 pages back originally. It's so far back because TT announced the Nov/Dec 2014 releases and that generated a lot of discussion recently.

There will not be a signed promo with the September pre-orders on August 20th. They've said that there will be one with the October pre-orders, which should be happening in late September.

They've not said what the title will be. They rarely announce what the signed titles will be very far in advance. Cynics would probably say that they don't want people to pass on buying the titles in anticipation of winning a signed copy later on. That wouldn't be an unreasonable stance on their part.

The difference in price is generally around $29.95.

Seriously, they are, quite literally, priceless. On the days when pre-orders are up for the next month's titles, they will offer signed copies (only one per customer while supplies last) for people who order $100 worth of Twilight Time product (not including shipping fees) from Screen Archives Entertainment (or, more recently, from Twilight Time themselves).

On edit (2015 01 12): For The Blob, the minimum purchase is $149.75 worth of Twilight Time product (not including shipping fees). It's not clear as of this writing whether this will be the new standard, or is a one-time for this particular title.

On edit (2015 02 11): For Heaven & Earth, the minimum purchase is $119.80, which is exactly the cost of four $29.95 titles. According to TT in the Facebook announcement of this promo: "The purchase requirement has been held in one place for 4 years - going forward the signing promotions will be tiered based on availability, etc.

On further edit (2015 03 02): For the reissue of Fright Night, the minimum purchase is at $149.75. It would appear that the minimum purchase will now vary depending on the title they offer.

The signed promo is free, but it's not automatically added to your order. You have to add it to your cart before check-out. The trouble is that you need to be quick about it. There are usually only 100-150 signed copies available, and they seem to typically run out within about 3 minutes of pre-orders going live.

A bit ago, totally from abstract interest, I went through all the replies in this thread looking for mentions of the signed promos, and made up a list. Here's what I came up with. If anyone knows of any others, please post.

The list has date (the pre-order date that the signed copies were available as promos), title, number of copies available, and who signed them.

2011 12 16 Fright Night 100 Tom Holland see note 1

Notes:

(1) Holland signed an additional 16 copies of Fright Night that he offered for sale/bid on eBay.

(2) Journey to the Center of the Earth wasn't a free/giveaway promo, but was offered for sale on the same day that the regular edition was up for pre-orders, and at the same price as the unsigned copies.

(3) Special offer not associated with any pre-order. Starting with the Audrey Rose promo, the signed copies will no longer be associated with pre-orders, but will be offered at other times, so that more people will have a better chance to get one.

(4) This was a special promotion by Twilight Time in honor of their establishing their own website from which one can order their releases:

Quote:
as a special opening day gift, the first 60 aficionados to purchase all 5 of the new titles from the new site will receive a FREE promotional copy of FRIGHT NIGHT: 30th Anniversary Edition - these are the last 60 promos held back for emergencies, and we feel there is no better way to allocate them than to give them away on our own site.
They were unsigned.

If you dig in their Facebook page around mid February I recently found mention that Walter Hill signed 140 copies of the Driver according to their post. Perhaps that can be verified by someone else but I was curiuos myself a while back and went digging.

This is a GREAT list and frankly should be edited into the OP. Why this hasn't already been done is amazing and I commend you for it sir!

ETA - you might want to asterisk in an additional 16 copies of Fright Night that Tom Holland signed in a batch and sold for 250 each on eBay.

Thanks for mentioning the number of copies of The Driver.

I'd thought about including those extra copies of Fright Night, but as they weren't being offered as promo copies by Twilight Time, it didn't seem quite right.

So you have to make a 100.00 dollar purchase and the signed item is free?

Of Twilight Time product only (other SAE items don't count). The $100 is pre-shipping, so unless you combine some of the $34.95 titles, you usually need 4 TT titles to qualify. They're great promos, but as people have said, you have to be quick!

Wouldn't it be something if they got Barbra to sign some copies of the Way We Were for the Yentl / Funny Lady pre-orders?

That would be great, but quite a stretch. The fantastic idea that I think might be a little more possible is some Oliver Stone signings. They already know him well enough to get him to persuade WB to release Heaven and Earth, so what's a few autographs on top of that? Fingers crossed!

Yeah, I was just kidding around with my comment, but the Oliver Stone thing might actually be plausible for the reasons you cite. I think it's great that they are able to get all of those people to autograph the blus, but the only one so far that I would call "A List" is Malcolm McDowell.

Default Twilight time Tiles

I am surprised by the number of major titles that Twilight Time has in their announcement for the rest of the year. Are the studios beginning to dump most of their back catalogs to TT, Olive, Kino, etc.

La Bamba
BIRDMAN OF ALCATRAZ
JUDGMENT AT NUREMBERG
YENTL
FUNNY LADY
INHERIT THE WIND
THE PRIME OF MISS JEAN BRODIE

I hope so. The catalog titles, from TT and Kino especially, are starting to come at a good pace. TT seems to be keeping the transfer quality quite high at the same time.

So like, is it just a thing that displays on the preorder page as a normal item with no cost that you can add to your cart? And it simply won't let you check-out unless you buy 100 bucks worth of stuff at the same time? Or is it something that shows up during checkout as an option to add to your order then if you start to checkout with 100 bucks worth of stuff in your cart?
