If it's Universal (and i'm kind of sure it's), I'd like to place a request for a masterful thriller, one of the best films of the 70's - The Day of the Jackal. Hopfeully, you will consider it. If not, then >>

SAE and TT always post on their respective websites / FB pages when any title slips below 500 copies remaining.

It would have to be either Universal or Warner, and I doubt it's the latter. If it's Universal, then I hope TT focuses on the pre-1950 Paramount movies they own.
Universal has totally neglected their Paramount holdings. Out of over 700 pre-1950 movies, incredibly enough they have only released one movie on Blu-ray (Double Indemnity).

2 Questions.
~ Lenny, the Dustin Hoffman film about Lenny Bruce is by MGM, any chance for TT to release it?
~ Hard Eight (1996) Am I mistaken or was that title mentioned in the past as a future release?
Question 1: Yes.
Question 2: No.

If, as some have been guessing, the new studio deal is with Universal how about some classic 50's Science Fiction, such as...

The Thing from Another World
It Came from Outer Space (inc. restored 3D version?)
The Incredible Shrinking Man
Tarantula

I've had hopes for a box set from Universal similar to their superb 'Classic Monsters' set, but I have doubts that will ever happen.

I've been wanting to see a Blu-ray release of The Thing from Another World since I first jumped to the format. I'm holding tightly to my Warner DVD for now.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet that Warner Archive will be releasing this movie, but I also fancy the idea of Criterion picking it up as another Howard Hawks release.

I've posted this before here on the Twilight Time thread, but I would love to see a release of The Earthling (1980), starring Ricky Schroder and William Holden.

Isn't Imitation of Life with Criterion?

I doubt they would strike a deal with Universal. Mostly because what Universal would turn over to them to release would be sub-par quality. It is evident that Uni is not remastering most of its catalog titles, it would all be heavy with DNR. So on top of the 3,000 units, the $29.99 pricing and shipping through SAE we'd have another topic for the TT gripe society.

Really? Crap. I grew up with that movie and have many fond memories, but its DVD release was so lousy, especially in this country. I wish someone would release a bluray that includes the John Carpenter commentary from the R2 dvd.
