TT is damned if they do, and damned if they don't. People complain because the release is limited to 3000 copies, and then people complain when TT says they're doing another pressing.

Honestly. Its a tough line to balance on since they try to cater to the collector. Its always been a rough road to follow in that market

Complaining is all some have in their lives. It gives them pleasure.

All production of physical media could end tomorrow, and I'd be fine. The collection I've built over the last 50 years, provides more than I'll ever be able to rewatch, and relisten to again, in the years I have remaining.

Have been thinking about getting three Twilight Time Blu-ray titles (The Killer Elite/Noon Wine, The Believers and Bunny Lake is Missing (*), but am hesitant in ordering/pre-ordering them, in case they might get a UK Blu-ray release (was interested in the title Rapture. Decided to get the Eureka Blu-ray release instead).

Kind of funny since Universal has always gotten a bad rap for catalog and now along with Warner are basically the only major studios who still release any respectable amount catalog at all. Also Universal licenses out a lot of stuff, especially overseas, while Warner continues to hoard its vast impressive library and let movies trickle out.

...which is why I'm patiently waiting for Universal's The Day Of The Jackal

After what happened with Thunderbolt and Lightfoot in the UK I wouldn't be surprised if any eventual UK release were vanilla - and the best thing about The Killer Elite is the extras on the TT version, especially Noon Wine which is worth the price of the disc on its own.

Just finished Sexy Beast. Had to use the subtitles, otherwise, I'd never understand their dialects.
Interesting film.
Recommended in the extras on Deadwood.

Haha, wow I thought that was a myth. I'm from London and didn't find the accents thick compared to some British films.

Oh and I'm not laughing at you at all bud, just amazed. I remember reading Trainspotting had to have subtitles when released, but always thought that was BS.

Hope you enjoyed it, I love the outcome of the film and Ben Kingsleys performance.

Ken Loach films aside, the only two films I've come across where I had serious problems with thick accents, and the DVDs unfortunately didn't have subtitles, were Soderbergh's The Limey and Atom Egoyan's Felicia's Journey. In those films, Terence Stamp and Bob Hoskins, respectively, affected really thick accents.

Even moderate accents can render unfamiliar slang or mumbled dialogue unintelligible. Relatively few Brit films make me feel like I need the subs (Kes is the poster child for this) but there are a lot more where subs are a handy option. Gangster/heist films tend to fall in the middle: not quite necessary but more than just a convenient luxury.

Oh yeah, my wife almost always turns to he if we're watching a movie and someone uses Cockney rhyming slang. Danny Dyer films being the big offenders.

Of course, with Danny Dyer films the language is the least of the reasons to turn off.

well, at least not the same people complain!
Those who didn't get it complained the first time, and those who got it complain now.

That sounds great.

However do you know (or anyone else) if SAE includes the shipping quote on the value of the packet making it 39.99 USD, or do they only quote the sales price for the movie 29.99 USD as total?

Also I am in doubt whether to possibly order the upcoming "Judgement at Nuremberg" release or go for the Australian version, it looks like they will have similar extras as well, maybe the PQ will differ though.

I didn't understand your question.
The prices SAE shows are only for the Blurays.
If you add a Bluray in your cart, and choose country of destination you will see how much shipping and total is.

That's the big selling point for me (aside from the San Francisco setting in The Killer Elite), the Noon Wine extra (reminds me of why I liked Universal's region free Blu-ray of Halloween II, because it had Terror in the Aisles as an extra). If I did decide to get the Twilight Time Blu-ray release and a UK label did eventually release The Killer Elite on Blu-ray and didn't include Noon Wine as an extra, then it would be worth keeping the Twilight Time Blu-ray release.

Meant to remove the rest of the asterisk note from my post (I was just saying that I realise Bunny Lake is Missing is not yet available for pre-order).

I believe he means value on the package when it's shipped by the USPS.
