Yeah, someone needs to turn the contrast knob really bad on that one. The picture looks quite nice otherwise, with a noticeable upgrade in detail, so it's a shame.

I must be one of the few where I'm not bothered at all by its appearance much and see it as an extraordinary improvement over the DVDs. It's certaintly not unwatchable and if this is the master provided, there's nothing anyone can really do about it.

You can fix the low contrast issue by adjusting the brightness on your TV. Pause the opening credits and adjust it downwards until the background just turns completely black. It will then look quite a bit better, although it will still look soft (maybe it's the intent, but anyway like you say it's a big improvement over the DVD).

Twilight Time will announce the March and April releases next week (first week of December), according to a post on their Facebook.

Jason and the Argonauts appears to be OOP now. It would make a nice pair with First Men on the Moon, tho.

Jason has been out for quite a while I would rather see something that hasn't been released before like 3 Worlds of Gulliver

Let's hope that the reason for Jason being out of print is because Sony plans on doing a 4K or 8K restoration of it. I just can't imagine them letting what many consider Harryhausen's best film (special effects work, script, acting, directing) to be unavailable for long.

I, too would prefer another as yet unreleased Harryhausen film on Blu from Twilight Time.

That would be sweet! Either "Three Worlds of Gulliver" or "One Million Years B.C." would do nicely with "First Men in the Moon."

All of those would be big sellers for the label . Mysterious Island is def one of the gems of my Blu-ray library. Thus, I am all in for more Harryhausen.
