I do remember this.....it's actually a TV movie from 1982. It was very good.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084832/

It was a Lorimar property, which means home video rights now belong to Warner. So, no chance (based on present arrangements) that TT could release this. Maybe Warner Archive.....

It is available (for a price) via Amazon on VHS.....

Per SAE Webpage.
Well that sucks. Hopefully they don't let things get too backed up (as I ordered Xmas gifts from them).

I am excited for this batch I was even able to get an autographed La Bamba blu with my order.

So, after many years of buying Twilight Time titles for the actual movies, I finally decided as I was tidying up the apartment that it would be nice to play one of the isolated soundtracks. So I popped in Leave Her to Heaven, selected Isolated Soundtrack on the Setup in the menu and then the only option left was to click Play Movie. It starts playing with only the soundtrack, but what I didn't realize is that there's these big long breaks of silence while we wait for the next time in the movie the soundtrack appears. Is that the way it's supposed to work? I expected it to play like a CD, with one track after the other, rather than something timed to the actual cues in the movie. You can't even skip to the next track because the chapter breaks are not aligned with the soundtrack.

Am I doing something wrong? I tried this with Steel Magnolias too -- same deal.

This is how all isolated score tracks are.

nope thats the way its supposed to be. you basically watch the movies without the voices.. same case with movies like oblivion.

its rather useless and i dont know why people would even want something like that.

So yesterday I see that the Dec 9th titles are going to be delayed until next week...yet today I get a shipping notice. Okay by me! The only pre-order title in my cart was INHERIT THE WIND.

Thanks for the explanation. I don't like this feature at all then. I just want to play the music one clip after the next, so that I could be reminded of the themes from the movie while doing something else around the house. The extended silence makes the isolated score, quite frankly, useless.

What is TT's exchange policy? I recieved the three Woody Allen films in the mail today and the plastic on the spine of Radio Days is punctured and ripped which also caused a tear on the artwork underneath. I know it must have been pulled from their warehouse damaged because I received them in a box wrapped in bubble wrap so there's no way something like that happened in transit. You'd think they would inspect them before boxing them up since people pay a premium for them.

From what I've read the serious isolated score fans rip the track and edit out the silent parts. Never done that myself but if I really wanted to get into that type of thing then that's what I would do.

Send them an e-mail. Typically, they'll send out a new case/artwork with your next order.

I don't know about others, but this is most valuable for film composers, musicologists, musicians, and generally people who are most interested in film music and its connection to the images, as this gives them the opportunity to study the music with the film without the obtrusion of dialogue and effects (or a possible low mix).

I suspect it would be most valuable too for film students and potential filmmakers, who want to study how music works in a film..

err somtimes you want to listen to the score and view the imagery without also hearing sound effects and dialgoue. Obviously not the way to first view a movie but it's another experience much like a commentary track is (you could make a similar argument there because even though you are getting info you are not really watching the movie).
