Either way, I hope Mysterious Island is also certain for future release. It's unavailable in other countries unless you want to buy a burned copy from Spain.

Gwangi's trapped in warner archives hell, I don't think that's going to happen. :P I'm just glad I bought the DVD when it was still pressed with special features instead of burned bare-bones. At least Beast from 20,000 Fathoms is still available outside of the archive.

Big Heat is the other one I regret. I became aware of TT slightly before it sold out, so I did have a chance to get it, but I didn't get around to it until it was too late.
According to TT, two of the titles are being reissued at the request of consumers where as the other two are at the request of the studios. Thus I'm presuming both Fright Night and Christine are the two titles being reissued due to consumer request and JTTCOTE is due to a studio request. The question that remains is what will be the fourth title. It could be another title from Fox which then would mean a reissue of Mysterious Island isn't looking good.

Of those 19 only 4 are currently slated for reissue. 2 at the request of consumers, and 2 at the request of the studios. There is nothing deceptive about our "pressings" of 3,000 units per run, especially as 90 + % of them will never be repressed. We feel it is only fair to give people another shot at titles like FN which took everyone by surprise in moving so quickly - and now consumers have the choice of the US edition and any number of foreign alternatives.

As baheidstu said, those should be OK at least to the next promo offer. I would expect Birdman and Judgment to sell fairly quickly, but since they haven't even hit the "fewer than 500 copies left" threshold. Leave Her to Heaven is fewer than 300 at the moment, but unless there's a sudden rush for copies, I don't see it vanishing anytime soon.

Me, yesterday I received an order I placed a week ago of Picnic, Birdman, and Judgment. I have another batch of titles ready to order if and when the next promo is offered.

That is undoubtedly the reason for Journey over Island. Especially given that the transfer on the former was...let's say "lacking" a bit...according to reports. A new 4K scan would probably be irresistable.

As for how long each title took to sell out, Journey sold out in three months (from pre-order to sell-out), Island took nine months. Both of these were in the early days of Twilight Time's existence, and I'm sure they both would've sold much more quickly if released today.

If you want more info on sell-out times for TT releases, there's a link in my signature below to a posting I made previously.

And given that this is one of the titles, that I believe, that Fox asked TT to reissue since a new transfer was struck after the original release I'm going to venture a guess that the other title is also another Fox title which received a new transfer since the original TT release. The one title I can think of is The Fury since Arrow financed a new transfer which is different from the original one that TT used for their original release.

And Mysterious Island was more expensive ($34.99) back then, and it still managed to sellout.

That's an interesting guess, and is no doubt correct, especially given that TT's 3-year exclusivity period for that (assuming it stems from street date) will expire in March 2016.

On the other hand, if it were up to me, the OOP Fox title I'd choose for a reissue would be The Egyptian. It's one of the three OOP titles from Twilight Time that I most regret missing out on (the others being The Big Heat and Mysterious Island).

90 titles scheduled for this year? That's an average of 7.5 per month.

the Egyptian took a long time to sell out, but that may have been because of the price ($39.99+shipping), it's a fantastic release and I almost didn't get it because of the price.

The interesting thing about Mysterious Island is that TT is the only one to have released this on Blu-ray, as far as I can tell, which makes me wonder why that is.

Here's an article from the NY Times about the two different The Fury releases. Nick Redman had an interesting tidbit in that article.

Also, Shock released both JTTCOTE and The Fury in Australia after the TT releases hit the market.

That is true. Many of the TT first releases were priced higher. But that was one movie I wanted right away

Not for the year but between August 20, 2014 (the time of the post) and the end of 2015.

No, the posting said "To date TT has released 102 blu-rays with another 90 scheduled between now and the end of 2015." The "now" being the date that that comment was posted to Facebook, which was August 20, 2014. So it's 90 titles over 16 months, or just under 6 per month.

On edit: Oops! Posting collision.

That, but also because (a) it was TT's first Blu-ray release, and TT wasn't as well known at the time, and (b) it didn't have the fan following that a lot of the other early TT sell-outs had. Hell, even The Big Heat took over a year to sell out.

Haha, sorry I should have checked the date of the post first, but I "assumed" it was recent.

6 per though is a strong pace, I hope their sales can keep it with that.

But looking again I noticed that only 5 per month are being released or scheduled for release (except for February and Nov/Dec last year). Perhaps they've already reconsidered and are holding it a 5 per month now? (for the most part).

Well, 90 titles over the course of 16 months is less than 6 per. It breaks down to 10 months at 6 per + 6 months at 5 per. One might think that some of the 6-per months would be ones that included the reissue titles, but the two reissues scheduled so far are in 5-per months.

You're right I did the math and to get to 90 (starting September last year) they need to release 47 more titles from May-Dec. That's an average of 5.875 per month (basically every month having 6 titles except for one).

What are the chances of an early review of the 4K-remastered JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH before it's released in March?

I also hope the Blu-ray MYSTERIOUS ISLAND gets a second release by TT or another label.

It's very unlikely as the reviewers seem to get the disc around the same time as the customers. The best we could hope for is maybe a 1-2 days prior or a release date review. However, it's more likely a review won't be posted for 1-3 weeks after the release date.
