And we're still waiting on most of the titles Olive announced when they first signed their deal with Paramount several years ago.

Olive releases quite a bit, at least they did a year or two ago. But it's mostly bottom of the barrel stuff. Movies that are barely worth releasing on DVD, much less Blu-ray.

If the price came in line with the rest of their releases, I'd be more inclined to pick it up. (If anyone out there wants to sell me a copy, I'm open to offers.)
I'm glad I bought them way back when the Beaver Buck was at par, now it would really hurt, with the exchange it would be $47 each with shipping.

I wouldn't quite go that far, most of the stuff is "passable" for blu-ray at least. They have their share of "lesser teir" classics that are certainly worthy of blu, as well as some hidden gems that aren't classics at all, but might be good for an entertaining Saturday afternoon movie.

Yes, they have released more than their share of C and D tier quality movies (forget B-movies, they go way beyond that). But that is far from the majority of what they are doing. Also, it's possible Paramount wasn't nearly as "helpful" to Olive as Sony and Fox have been to Twilight Time.

I agree, I have bought quite a few Olive releases, and have been very happy with what I've bought.

To be fair, there are some briliant nuggets if you can sift through the dross. High Noon and The Quiet Man are essential, IMHO, with many others not far behind.

they've released The Quiet Man, High Noon, Letter From an Unknown Woman, Johnny Guitar, The Pawnbroker....

I don't think your statement is correct. Great films by great directors.

Is oildude still the one editing the OP? If so, any chance of adding a "confirmed but no official release date" section? At this point there are several confirmed future releases but they are spread out randomly amongst this thread. Off the top of my head there is:

The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959)
Runaway Train (1985)
Devil in a Blue Dress (1995)
Bound for Glory (1976)

I'm probably missing 5-6 others, and there are 2-3 more Protagonist Pictures titles that were listed, too.

I personally like the idea of sticking to official release date announcements on the original post, simply to avoid clutter and confusion.

If a "confirmed, but to-be-announced" section is included, then it should at least go on the bottom of the post.

Make it as distinct as possible, sure. My main point is that the info would be convenient and cause less confusion, especially now that MGM is licensing to several companies.

Interesting insofar as, at least at this moment, SAE still has this title listed for sale on Amazon Marketplace. In any event, I was surprised that this title wasn't sold out a while ago given its pedigree (a popular picture that was a Best Picture nominee; Oscars for Jack and Helen, etc.).

Good thing it's still available every place else in the world for anyone who still wants it.

I'm excited for the 2/25 preorders. Bring on First Men In The Moon and JTTCOTE Special Edition!!

It was one, of many TT titles, that I decided to just buy the digital version for a fraction of the price. I am tempted to actually buy both Journey and First men though.

Yep... I have a number of their releases. More than a few bonafide classics, and also some hidden gems.

But they also did this not too long ago:

I said "mostly" bottom of the barrel. Of course they have released great movies. Who hasn't? But for every "Quiet Man", they release three obscure movies, such as "I've Always Loved You", "Such Good Friends" or "Track the Man Down".
